From princes Harry and William to their children, all of them made their first appearance outside the hospital, wrapped in warm and comfortable blankets in their parent's arms. But Harry and Meghan lived up to everyone's expectations and chose to do things differently.
The wait had been long but the result was the sweetest for new parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It was a great joy to the world to see them in their new roles at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle on May 8, two days after baby Archie's birth. When Meghan was asked how it felt to be a new mom, she said, "It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”
She said that her little bundle of joy "has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.” Proud papa, Harry, responded, "I don’t know where he gets that from!”
And, this is how the new royal baby was introduced to the world. In the arms of his father, wrapped in a white blanket, at the same location where his parents had their wedding reception. Unlike other royal babies, especially in the case of Princess Diana and Kate Middleton, who were at the hospital steps of the Lindo Wing with their newborn children at St Mary's Hospital, Meghan eschewed the tradition to have a home birth. Harry and Meghan also broke tradition when they came out walking at the St. George's Hall with Archie in Harry's arms rather than Meghan's. Previously, in the case of royal babies' first appearances, it was always the mother who would hold the baby.
Harry followed his father in the case of the first-born. When Prince Charles and Princess Diana had left the Lindo Wing in 1982, it was the father who held on to baby William. According to Diana's biography in 1992, the first words Prince Charles said were "Oh God, it's a boy! And he's even got red hair!", writes the Express UK. However, Harry was just ecstatic to see his new baby, which can be seen in his first interview with the media.

Have a look at how Archie's cousins were introduced to the world when they were born.
Kate Middleton stood at the steps of the Lindo Wing in hospital wear with her children in her arms but even before her, Princess Diana had stood on those steps and showed off her sons, William and Harry, proudly to the world.
All the royal babies made their first public appearance wrapped in white, just like baby Sussex, who has been named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, did too. Much like the small age difference between Prince William and Harry, the former's children are also only a few years apart. However, Harry and Meghan don't follow the royal traditions to a T and they could be the couple who would have only one child or with greater age difference than his brother's kids.
