"I was so nervous sitting in the chair, getting my hair done and my make-up done, seeing my family all dressed for my wedding," Slaton told PEOPLE. "My brother pushing me down the aisle, seeing all my friends and family just looking their best. And then, seeing my husband and seeing how handsome he looked. It stopped my heart." The ceremony took place at the rehab center where the pair first met each other and eventually fell in love. "And then the ceremony! Awesome! Everything! The vows my husband said," she continued. "I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Then the kiss sealed the deal — that was my husband!"
Slaton first revealed details of her wedding to PEOPLE late last year, when she invited 30 friends and family members to the small celebration. "You all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now you'll all know me as Mrs. Tammy Willingham," Tammy said at the time. "I'm married now!" The reality star also opened up about her life as a newlywed to PEOPLE in January, when she shared that "there was so much love in the room" on her wedding day. "I literally married my best friend," she said. Slaton added at the time that she's never been happier. "I love waking up every morning and seeing his face. And seeing his face every night before going to bed."
Slaton reached another milestone recently as she lost a lot of weight. She needed to drop from 717 lbs. to 550 lbs. in order to qualify for weight loss surgery, and, much to her excitement, she made it down to 534 lbs. She then took to Instagram to share several pictures revealing her weight loss journey. "When I got on the scale and I saw the scale was at 534.7, I kinda stopped breathing for a second," Slaton said during the February 7 episode. "I'm like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that's a huge drop." She added, "I'm feeling thrilled, proud, excited — just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!"
In an episode that aired on February 28, she was seen being celebrated by her whole family as she left the Ohio rehab facility to undergo the weight loss operation. "They had a poster for me to read that everybody wrote a little something on there to celebrate me," she said during the episode. "I mean, b—s this is about me at the end of the day because I'm the queen." She needed her family by her side, "I needed to know that they're here for me. They love me. That's one of the biggest things to help push me through to get to where I am now."
Now, Slaton has not only reached her weight loss goal but also married her best friend, and more happiness awaits her!
