“The moment she stepped up to talk, I knew then what was about to happen," Frank Tyson said.
Groom and bride are generally the stealers of the wedding, who finally take a step to officiate them as married. But this story is something different. It tells the tale of a couple who were exchanging their vows and the bride's 12-year daughter stepped up and said her share of feelings which left everyone shedding tears of joy.
Frank Tyson, 40, and Tia, 33, were exchanging their vows when Aryanna Kershner, Tia's daughter, stepped up the stage in the middle of the ceremony and sobbed with emotion as she explained that she had “waited 2555 days for this moment,” to ask Tyson to make his fatherhood official, reported Today. According to Happily News, Tia said everyone in the crowd knew the request for it coming up except the groom, and everyone's reaction just added to the emotional moment. The bride further explained that it was a running joke in their family that Aryanna might get Frank's second name before Tia does.

Acknowledging the love, Frank said yes to her stepdaughter. This small ask made the groom so emotional that he cried uncontrollably and then hugged his daughter. The moment did not come to light until the wedding videographer Duke Films, shared a short clip of the ceremony on social media on January 25, 2022. Speaking of the moment going viral, Frank admitted he gets very emotional when he sees the reaction it has received. He said: “The moment she stepped up to talk, I knew then what was about to happen. The only word I could get out was, ‘Yeah,’ as I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I want people to see the video and know hope is never lost – there’s good in the world, and this is what life is all about.”
In a similar heartwarming story, a 14-year-old boy from South Carolina started a lawn care business to help his stepfather with the legal fees needed to adopt him and his big brother Tylee, 15. "He's been a father figure to me since I was 2," Tyce said. "He's always been there for us and helps me with anything I need like homework." The boy said it was important to him because he learned " respect, independence, and what a man is supposed to be" from his stepdad. "If anything ever happens to my mom, Eric is who I'd want to live with," he said adding, "Court is expensive. I thought I could make enough money to pay for the adoption."
According to Realdiapers, in the US it is seen that the number of single parents has been increasing at a shooting rate. Statistics show that single parenthood is more common than ever and many often-referred stereotypes are just inaccurate. According to the latest census single parents statistics (2021), there are over 11 million single-parent families with their own children under 18 years old.
