"My sister said she heard something fall and someone crying," a family member said.
A young child who was out fishing with his family in Ohio over the weekend tragically went missing. 7-year-old Lucas Rosales and his family were fishing in the vicinity of Eastwood Metro Park and Harshman Road when he vanished, according to a press release from Dayton Police Department (DPD). "He was last seen at approximately 6:40 pm, Saturday, April 29th," the police shared.
Police stated that they presently "have no reason to suspect foul play" as they continued the search process, per PEOPLE. The boy's father and sister, stressed from searching for their beloved young boy, said in an interview with CBS affiliate WHIO on May 1, that they had warned Rosales against coming too close to the water but are unsure of what transpired after he left them to join other family members.

"My sister said she heard something fall and someone crying, and she said she saw splashes in the water and after that, we just don't know," sister Da'Najiah Wakefield told the outlet.
Five Rivers MetroParks made the decision to close on April 30 in order to allow for the ongoing disappearance investigation to continue. "Dayton Police and Fire crews are working again today searching for Lucas Rosales," police said in an update on Monday. "We have utilized aviation, drones, and K-9s. We have drained a pond during this search as well," they wrote, adding that detectives have also expanded their search area. The police thanked people who showed up in an update on Twitter, saying, "We appreciate so many members of the public asking to help, and many just showing up to Eastwood."

The search was also assisted by more than 100 personnel from a number of departments and organizations, such as Dayton Police and Fire, Five Rivers MetroParks, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and volunteer search groups, according to the DPD.
"I just hope they find him," Brandye Russell, a volunteer who took part in search efforts, told CBS affiliate WHIO. Russell shared that they didn't come across any clues in their search. “No, we did come across a little footprint, feet, but nothing,” she said. “I think it was other people searching because there’s a lot of people out here. Other than that, no, we haven’t seen anybody.”
Rosales, who is 3 feet tall and has brown hair and eyes, was last seen wearing a white shirt with black sleeves, black trousers, and black Converse trainers.
We appreciate so many members of the public asking to help, and many just showing up to Eastwood, but because of the terrain and conditions of where searches have been focusing we are asking people to still avoid the area for the time being. (3/3) pic.twitter.com/EuU02R6LZs
