Adam Sandler is one of the few celebrities who maintain that his childhood was joyful.
The legendary comedian and actor Adam Sandler has had a highly successful acting career, but he wasn't always that self-assured. Sandler's mom Judy, who was a nursery school teacher when he was growing up, was his biggest fan, and sometimes, harshest critic, he told CBS News.
He shared that all his confidence came from his mom, who consistently made her son believe that he was "great." He shared, "My parents told me I was, my mother said how great I was all the time. I started to believe her. But my father would be like, 'You're great, but you ain't that great.'"
The actor also acknowledged that his family supported and loved him when he did an impression of his grandmother when he was younger, and this contributed significantly to Sandler's successful career as a comedian. The People's Choice Award winner continues to incorporate his family in his comedic endeavors.
He was seen on the red carpet in 2022 with his mother, sharing a rare and touching mother-son moment at a special showing of the Pennsylvanian film Hustle, in which the producer stars, per PEOPLE. Adam really loves his mother a lot, mostly because of the happy childhood he had, per CBS.
The youngest of four children, Sandler is one of the few comedians who maintain that his upbringing was joyful. But Sandler's mother doesn't really know how to watch his movies online even though it has been set up for her, he admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Has [your mom] figured out Netflix yet,” host Kimmel asked Sandler, to which the actor replied no, she still struggles with it. “It’s a horrible thing,” said Sandler. “This is my third movie for Netflix that my mother won’t see.”
Sandler's mother becomes very upset when she can't access Netflix, asking how you do it and warning that “It’s going to start trouble.” Sandler joked, “She’s just going to skip my next eight movies and then we will get her back.”
But whether Sandler's mom watches his movies or not, the son has expressed his love and gratitude in another way. He bought her a house. In recognition of all that she has done for him, Sandler gave his mother a house in Boca Raton, worth $1.25 million as of now, to live in as her primary abode. The Sandler family has also made the local move. Adam Sandler's condo measures 2,600 square feet. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and it was initially constructed in 1981.
