Al Roker is grateful to be able to spend time with his family this Christmas. The Today show weather anchor shared a series of snaps decorating his Christmas tree at home with his family after his recent visit from the hospital. According to PEOPLE, the 68-year-old hung up ornaments on the family tree along with his wife Deborah Roberts, 62, and their children—daughter Leila, 24, and son Nick, 20. "So thankful to be well enough to decorate the Roker Family #christmastree," he captioned the pictures.

Roker has been undergoing health concerns for the past couple of months and has been recovering from blood clots in his leg and lungs. Just last month, he was discharged on Thanksgiving but had to be rushed back just a day later. Fortunately, his health improved once he was treated in the hospital. Earlier this month, he posted, "Hopefully coming home soon but when your spirit sags a bit, you get to see that and recharge. God Bless you all for all the prayers and well wishes for me and my family."

After spending four weeks in the hospital, the anchorman's colleagues decided to surprise him and bring home some holiday cheer. All of the anchors, producers, crew, and security from TODAY wanted to show the TV personality how much he means to them. They were decked in Santa Claus hats as they snuck into his home. Before that, they were practicing a block away when Rocker and his wife, Deborah Roberts, were just returning from a doctor’s appointment. They were about to drive by the group but Roberts who was in on the plan messaged the group to hightail it to another block. Once the group got home, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb rang the doorbell to see a stunned Roker who was blown away by the heartwarming gesture.

As they wrapped up a round of Jingle Bells, he said slyly, "It’s impressive you did that without a prompter." Then the weatherman poured his heart out. "I’ve missed you all so, so very much, all these faces," he said. "It just means the world to me and to our family and my Deborah, who’s just been my rock. I thank you so much. I really appreciated it." As the group sang Al Be Home for Christmas he couldn't hold back his emotions. "I love you more than you’ll ever know," he told everyone. "It was one of the most heartwarming moments I think (for) all of us," Savannah said of the beautiful surprise. "Everybody was in tears, and it was just beautiful and so wonderful to see him."
