"So happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!" Alan Jackson wrote.
Country music star Alan Jackson has shared sweet throwback pictures with his wife Denise Jackson from when they were newly engaged. According to Country Rebel, the couple has spent almost their entire lives together as they met in high school and fell in love before they graduated. Alan and Denise had decided to marry early at the age of 18 and tied the knot in 1979. The couple started their new life living in a cramped underground apartment where Alan tried to sell his music.
The country crooner and his wife moved away from their hometown in Georgia and relocated to Nashville so Alan can pursue his music career as they sustained their relationship through hard times. With barely enough to live by, Denise never left her husband’s side and they’ve been together for 43 years now.
According to CBS, Alan had to sell his favorite Ford 55 Thunderbird in order to afford a better house, raise their first child and provide for the family. It was a hard but necessary decision for him since Alan and Denise went on their first date in the same car and he had his sentiments attached to the vehicle. But fate has something interesting in store for them. When Alan was shot to stardom, Denise decided to buy their old car and gift it to her husband on Christmas.
However, the couple had rough patches in their marital life as well when Alan admitted to having an affair while he was on tour. "I'm a human being just like anybody and make mistakes, and I think it was even better to see that we survived that and have turned it around," the Good Time singer said, as per the outlet.
Alan’s episode of infidelity led the couple to separate for a while but they managed to work out their differences and get back together in order to remarry. According to Taste Of Country, the couple went on to have three more children and Alan also shared their secret of a long-lasting marriage. "We try to get out and go to dinner or hang out and go to the movies or something. We build a fire and have some wine and a nice evening," he revealed.
Alan and Denise’s son welcomed their first child on December 13, 2022, and being the proud grandparents, the couple shared an Instagram post, cradling the baby and the caption read: "So happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!"
