62YO Alec Baldwin Welcomes Fifth Child With Wife Hilaria | Their Miracle Son Was Born After Miscarriages

Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria had two miscarriages in 2019 but the couple wanted to keep trying until they have another daughter.

Being a dad is a joy at any age and in Hollywood, where men are welcoming fatherhood at a later stage in life, this trend is especially catching up. From George Clooney to Steve Martin to Bruce Willis, these leading men have welcomed fatherhood in their 50s, 60s, and even 70s. Actor Alec Baldwin is no stranger to late fatherhood either, having welcomed his second child at the age of 55.

At 62, Baldwin welcomed his fifth child with wife Hilaria, 36. He is a father to six children now. His first child, Ireland, 24, was born to Kim Basinger in 1995. Baldwin and Hilaria had been trying for more children but unfortunately, she suffered two miscarriages in 2019. They welcomed their fifth child on September 8, 2020, and announced it on Instagram a day later.

Sharing a family photo, Hilaria said that the baby was "perfect," according to GoodMorning America (GMA). "We had a baby last night. He is perfect and we couldn’t be happier 🌟. Stay tuned for a name," she wrote.

Baldwin later shared the same photo, adding the Spanish caption, "Número Cinco está aqui.....(Para mi, número seis)," or “Number five is here.....(For me number six)."

The 30 Rock star's wife shared an Instagram story of a photo of a footprint of their latest child ink stamped on Baldwin's arm. She added that they walked around while she was in labor before going to the hospital. They finally went to the hospital when her contractions got closer. But, before that, she clicked her last selfie in her pregnant form.

The couple got married in 2012 and since then have welcomed daughter Carmen, 7, and sons Rafael, 5, Leonardo, 3, and Romeo, 2. They had another son after two miscarriages in 2019, which were devastating for Hilaria, as per Daily Mail.

The childbirth took place after a false labor alarm in late August. She had then posted a selfie on her Instagram story and said, "I've had a million kids but drove 3 hours to the dr today because I thought maybe I was in labor. You'd think I'd know by now. With living so far from the hospital due to COVID, I'm trying to anticipate labor even sooner. Literally was there for 10 min and had to drive 3 hours back home because I was not in labor. I'm wiped," she had said then.

In November 2019, she had revealed that she had a miscarriage four months into her pregnancy. "We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies — and we will never lose sight of this," she added, according to GMA.

She has been candid about her struggles with pregnancy as she wants to normalize the challenges of a miscarriage. The couple wanted to add another daughter to their family as they had three boys already. They added one more son. They had said that they would keep trying until they have another girl, according to Daily Mail.

She also received a surprise baby shower. "I can't believe that Alec didn't tell me... Because we all know that he can't keep secrets from me! So this was soooooo well done!" she wrote on Instagram. Baldwin had managed to get some friends and their kids to host the party for her.

The couple was isolating with their children at their Long Island home. They left their New York City house because of the pandemic that broke out in March.
