Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin, Alec Baldwin's daughter just accomplished a major goal, and her pleased father shared the good news on Instagram. The Beetlejuice actor shared the most recent image of his 7-month-old daughter standing up, dressed in pink and wearing ribbon-patterned sneakers. The child's head was draped in a white ribbon.
"All of our children crawl, stand, walk, and talk early. It's a blessing and…well, you know. It's Cirque de Soleil here every day. Here is the latest addition to our troupe," the proud dad captioned his post. Ilaria is seen smiling sweetly in the photo as she stood next to her mother Hilaria Baldwin, who kept a hand on the youngest member of the family in case she needed help.
On September 22, 2022, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin made Ilaria's birth official, per PEOPLE. The baby girl was given the name by her mom Hilaria "in honor of happiness and the mothers in our family who came before you." The couple has six other children in addition to Ilaria, Carmen Gabriela, age 9, Rafael Thomas, age 7, Leonardo Angel Charles, age 6, Romeo Alejandro David, age 5, Edu, age 2, and Carmen, age 2. The Boss Baby actor is also a father to Ireland through his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
Alec shared the wonders as well as the dissatisfactions of parenthood in an interview with The Guardian. “It’s frustrating. I sit there, with some regularity, driving in a car, or whenever I have a moment to breathe. And I sit there and I think: ‘You know what? I wish I had more time’,” he said. He went on to say, “There are drawbacks to my kids, me being this age. But there are benefits, too. I’m there. I’ve made them a priority. It’s made me much more mindful. ‘How do I make the most of my time with them?’”
The most adorable thing that Alec does after becoming a father is smell his kids. “You know, sometimes I sniff my kids,” he told The Guardian, “I huff them,” he explained. “You know, like people would huff chemicals.”
He shared that in his day, a brief couple of hours are the ones he enjoys the most. “There’s, like, a sacred part of the day,” he explains, “between 5 pm and 7 pm, when we don’t do anything but be with the kids. Feed them. Bathe them. It takes time. There are so many of them… Which sounds insane, right? It is insane. Let’s face it. It’s insane.”
Finally, the actor, like most parents, wished he had more time. “Ten extra years!” he said. “I wish I had 10 extra years! I wish I was 50. But, y’know, life. There is no pause button. There is no reverse button.”
