In a 2020 incident, a baby was found inside a pizza box, abandoned on a pavement in Mexico. Just a week old, the innocent one was discovered by the locals, reported The Independent. The infant was wrapped in a blanket when it was found on Thursday, October 8, in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas.

Along with the baby was a note which would break the heart of even the strongest person. It said that the baby's mother had passed away during childbirth. "Take care of my grandson," read the note. "My daughter died while giving birth and I don't have [a way] to support him and I hope he has a better life and God forgive me," it continued. Locals immediately called social services and the little baby was taken to a local hospital for a full medical checkup. The Civil Protection agency posted about the terrible incident on their Facebook page giving details about how the child was found along with a picture of the note.
In the post which went viral, they wrote, "Life shapes you but it does not prepare you for situations like this." They continued, "This morning we receive a report to our base, that at the crossroads of Allende and Zacatecas streets, an abandoned baby in the open." They further revealed that it was the paramedics who noticed that inside the pizza box which was placed on a bench was the note.
The post caught the attention of the Tlaltenango mayor Miguel Ángel Varelo Pinedo. He too shared the sad news on his Facebook page stating that he would personally look into the matter and take care of the child's expenses, reported 7 News.
He wrote, “It’s sad to hear that a baby is abandoned due to a lack of financial resources." He continued and penned, "This beauty was found today, creature of God. Beyond the message, this is when we should show solidarity and take care of the baby."
Declaring that he'll be the one overlooking the well-being of the baby, mayor Miguel added, "I'll take care of the baby's spending as long as it takes...this beautiful child is not guilty of anything." He concluded by writing, "Rest in peace your holy mother, and God forgive your grandmother."
In an update, the mayor revealed through another one of his posts that the baby had been given a name. He started the post by saying "God give you long life #AngelGabriel!" and then continued, "It's the name the people of #Tlaltenango have baptized him [with]." He added that he was christened right before he was handed over to the authorities. He then requested the governor of Zacatecas to see that the baby is adopted by someone from the region.
This story proves that even though humanity is meant to do great things, it can also help change lives through a small act. The baby was left alone with no hand over its tiny head to save him from the wrath of the world but some strangers found Angel and made him reach the hands of the people who could help him out in some way. This is the kind of positivity that can light up everyone's lives even if it's for a few minutes.
