Jennifer Lopez, 53, can't stop gushing about her 50-year-old husband Ben Affleck, and their blended family. The singer shared a touching Thanksgiving week slideshow on Sunday morning, including a heartwarming photo of her 14-year-old son Max with a smiling Affleck. The young teen can be seen lying on his stepdad's shoulders during what looks like a car ride. "This Is … Thanksgiving Holiday 🤍🍁," Lopez wrote, with hashtags "#ThisIsMeNow" and "#Family."
The couple has found love again after two decades! The two first met in 2002, got engaged in 2003, and later called it off and went their separate ways in 2004. After the first split in 2004, Ben Affleck went on to marry Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and the two share three children — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. Lopez went on to have twins Emme and Maximillian, 14, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
As we previously reported JLo legally changed her name to “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck” after they got married recently. In the December issue of Vogue, the "Get Right" singer laughed when asked whether she'd ever want her husband to take her last name. "No! It's not traditional. It doesn't have any romance to it. It feels like it's a power move, you know what I mean?" Lopez said. "I'm very much in control of my own life and destiny and feel empowered as a woman and as a person."
The Marry Me actress admitted while "people are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez," her "legal name" after her wedding to the Argo star "will be Mrs. Affleck because we're joined together." "We're husband and wife. I'm proud of that. I don't think that's a problem." Lopez also opened up about the process of blending families where the two are "learning about parenting from each other." "The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care," Lopez said at the time.
As for what makes the couple's connection different this time around, JLo opened up to PEOPLE in Feb. 2022 revealing, "We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things." "It's a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other," Lopez admitted. "We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions."
