"Eight years married, side by side, and now a little one for us to guide," Madden wrote.
When talking about his affection for Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden isn't hesitant to get mushy. On Instagram, the lead singer of Good Charlotte, 43, paid a special homage to the actress, 50, and their 3-year-old daughter Raddix in honor of the adorable couple's eighth wedding anniversary. "In Love, Inspired, Happy and Grateful," Madden wrote. "Eight years married, side by side, and now a little one for us to guide! let's do 80 more and then forever! happy anniversary 1*5*," he added.
Along with the remarks, he also drew a drawing of a hand-drawn vase with two roses, flowers, and his initials in the corner. On the left of the illustration, there is also a ship and a sunset.
After leaving the spotlight in 2014, Diaz married Madden a year later in 2015. She gave birth to her daughter Raddix in December 2019. The Charlie's Angels actress revealed during an appearance on Kevin Hart's Peacock talk program, Hart to Heart, that she decided to take a hiatus after realizing around the age of 40 that there were "so many elements of my life" that she wasn't "touching" or "controlling."
But she decided to return to acting last year, joining Jamie Foxx in the Netflix action comedy Back in Action. Following the announcement, the actress from The Sweetest Thing spoke candidly in an interview with CBS Saturday Morning about her decision to resume acting after an eight-year break. The star told co-host Dana Jacobson that she missed her craft during her time away. "Making movies is a particular skill set that is fun to exercise and be a part of," Diaz shared. "But yeah, it's a different lifestyle. And you kind of have to be ready to do that," she added.
Finding a work-life balance while making a comeback in acting is another challenge that Diaz says she is ready to take on. "Everybody only has 100 percent, and you always have to figure out how you're going to divide that 100 percent to spread it to all that parts of your life that matter," she said.
Madden reportedly had a huge role to play in Diaz picking up her career again. According to a source, "He encouraged her to unretire." The four-time Golden Globe nominee, according to a source "was ready to act again. She just needed a push. Benji has always been very supportive of Cameron in what she wants to do, especially in her career." Back in Action, the Netflix movie doesn't have a set release date yet, and so it was perfect for Diaz to make her comeback. "She doesn't want acting to overtake her life now as it did before. All the parts fit into place."
