"The greatest gift that Al ever gave me was to make me a mother," said Beverly D'Angelo.
Beverly D’Angelo is opening up about her relationship with her ex-husband Italian duke Lorenzo Saviati and how he was happy to divorce her so she could be with Al Pacino. The Violent Night actress fell in love with Pacino while she was still married but she was able to have an open conversation with her husband at the time. The 71-year-old fell in love with the now-82-year-old Pacino back in the 90s. She and her husband at the time had an open relationship where they could go and have fun "but if there were any crises or anything, we'd come back together."
"I always thought the guys that I was with thought it was great that I was married because they knew 'no responsibility here!' But when I met Al Pacino and told him about my little deal, he said, 'Well, that's crazy,'" she shared. She then called Saviati to explain that she had fallen in love with someone else. "I said, 'I'm in love.' He goes, [D'Angelo affects an Italian accent] 'Oh, Beverly, who is it this time?' And I said, 'Well, it's an actor.' He went, 'An actor? No, no, not an actor.' And I said, 'I really love him and we're talking about having kids and he thinks it's crazy that I'm married and now I'm thinking it is too.'"
Saviati protested: "He went, 'Oh, that's ridiculous. Who thinks this is crazy, this perfect relationship? Who is this actor?' I said, 'Well, it's Al Pacino.' He goes, 'Al Pacino, he's fantastic. I love him. We divorce!'" The two had an easy separation. "We just signed these papers," shared D'Angelo. "That's when my mother-in-law started to love me, I think. It took her 15 years to understand that I wasn't in [the marriage] for a title of wealth or for privilege."

As for D'Angelo and Pacino, they two were together for a while and welcomed twins Anton and Olivia in 2001. At the time the actress was 49. They split up soon after but she looks back at it fondly. "The greatest gift that Al ever gave me was to make me a mother," said D'Angelo. So who was her true soulmate? Saviati, her soul mate, even though they're not together. "It was a great love match," she admitted. As for Al Pacino, he hasn't married anyone in his lifetime. According to Page Six, the actor was last reported dating a woman 53 years his junior, Noor Alfallah, 28, for some time.
