According to reports, the couple welcomed their third child over two months ago, but chose to keep it under the wraps.
Parents of two, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of the most adorable couples of tinsel town. However, they are known to keep a low-profile and stay away from the Hollywood humdrum for the most part, especially when it comes to their family. Which is probably why the Green Lantern actors decided to keep the birth of their third baby a secret for almost a couple of months.
It was still a secret until US Weekly independently confirmed the news after Blake and Ryan shared a photo of themselves out on a date night last week, reports ELLE. The couple who already have James, 4, and Inez, 3 welcomed their third baby this summer and devoted father Ryan ditched a gig to be with his lovely wife around the time she gave birth.
"Ryan left the set he was working [on] for about eight days" around the time the Gossip Girl alum, 32, gave birth, reports US Weekly. The media outlet also quoted an insider who revealed why the couple decided to keep this a secret.
"They do everything they can to make sure [the kids] have a normal upbringing," said the source.
Earlier, US Weekly had also reported that the couple is staying close to their loved ones in Westchester as Blake loved spending time with them. "She has several mom friends and loves having them over for play dates," the source added.
After debuting her baby bump at the May premiere of her husband’s movie Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Blake remained off social media and also avoided being photographed, reports ELLE.
The couple has always been fiercely protective about the privacy of their children. In an old interview, Blake had explained that they try to keep their children away from the spotlight to allow them to have a normal life.
"Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had," the 32-year-old told the magazine. "We don't ever want to rob them of what we had because then we'd feel really selfish."
She added, "All my eggs are in one basket, and that's my family. That's where my heart is. That's where my everything is," she added. "That's the thing that I feel most protective of and the thing that I feel is the most exposed when I feel exploited," reports nine.com.au.
While the news of them becoming parents again is out, the exact time, place, gender or name of the baby is still a mystery.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' relationship is one of the favorite love stories of Hollywood fans. Be it their cute couple moments or their interviews about each other, their earnestness for their relationship never fails to floor their admirers. While their every minute moment together is eyed by millions across the globe, not many know how they met each other and fell in love.
The story of their first meeting is nothing less than a movie script. Here's how it went:
"About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date—she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl," Reynolds said to PEOPLE. "It was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across," Reynolds added.
Blake Lively, on the other hand, did not feel the "fireworks" on that day, she said it took her a long time to decide on dating him. "I don’t know about fireworks for me. No, yeah, we were such good friends for so long and we both got to know each other as friends so when we were both single, we were still trying to find each other’s [perfect date]—'Oh, who would be good for you?' We’d sit around being like, 'Oh jeez, do you know anyone?' And it didn’t click for, I mean, a good year and a half. Like, 'Oh hey, wait, hold on. We could date!'" she told Entertainment Weekly.
