"Christian was there for me in the toughest times of my life and supported me and made me feel so special. It brought us so close together."
Sophia Corah, 24, has regained her eyesight after going blind in her teenage years due to keratoconus, reported PEOPLE magazine.
Corah was diagnosed with keratoconus in May 2017; she was 18 years old when she was informed about her condition. She was then declared legally blind in August that year. Keratoconus happens to be a condition in which the cornea thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape, causing blindness. The treatment for the condition happens to be a cornea transplant. However, the surgery was expensive for college-going Corah.
Christian Corah met her when they attended college at Colorado's Adams State University. Soon, both of them became close friends and Christian helped her raise $20,000 for the surgery which would enable her to regain vision. According to reports, the operation on Corah's cornea was performed in October 2018. Soon, her vision returned for good and she was finally able to see the love of her life.
"My vision slowly started coming back, but it was very gradual while I healed," she said. "I could see how handsome he was—he had a gorgeous smile. I knew I'd fallen for him and had to tell him how I felt."
Their connection had always been a strong one even before Corah got treated for her blindness. The couple dealt with their fair share of challenges but stayed together. "As soon as I met Sophia, I was drawn to her. She was such a fighter," praised Christian, talking about his wife.

As Corah looks back on the days before her surgery, she mentions that she always knew she was in love with the man and was happy being with such a wonderful person who was there for her all the time.
"I had already built a connection with him that it didn't matter what he looked like. But it was very nice to properly see his face after all this time," Corah added. "He was even more handsome than I could have imagined."
The couple soon got hitched after professing their love for each other and celebrated their first anniversary together, this June. Corah lives with her husband and works as a science teacher in New Mexico. The young couple posted pictures of their wedding on their Instagram profiles, showcasing the true love and happiness in their lives.
"Christian was there for me in the toughest times of my life and supported me and made me feel so special. It brought us so close together," Corah added, talking about her husband.
Corah shared a beautiful snap of the two of them with the post caption, "I knew I was lucky when we got married but after this first year, my gratitude for having you in my corner has grown far greater than I could ever imagine. Since the day I met you, your radical acts of love have impacted me in a way that I could never put into words. I can’t imagine a kinder soul to share my days with💗💕 from ridiculous competitions to adopting too many animals, I can’t wait for more priceless memories."
The happy couple's story touched everyone's hearts with good wishes and blessings pouring in from all over social media.
