Love is complicated for most people. The person we fall in love with changes and so do we. Our needs and expectations from love also change over time. With age and experience comes maturity to be able to handle those complex layers of a relationship and Brad Pitt seems to be embracing complexity with gusto.
Love is in the air for the actor, who is still finalizing his custody battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The 56-year-old was previously linked to his first ex-wife Jennifer Aniston after photos of them being friendly at the SAG awards went viral. However, PageSix confirmed on August 26 that he is in a relationship with a 27-year-old German model, Nicole Poturalski. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor was seen in France with the brunette when they arrived at Le Bourget airport outside Paris. A source confirmed saying, "They are seeing each other, they’re enjoying a vacation together."
"They were seen driving in a chauffeured vehicle that took them to the airport for their next flight," an eyewitness said. "They took the one-hour flight and were spotted arriving in the South of France," they said.
They reportedly went to the actor’s chateau in the South of France. Pitt and Jolie had purchased the property together and gotten married at the chateau in 2014. The new couple has reportedly been dating for several months as the model posted many photos of herself on Instagram referencing her "love" and "better half." In one photo, she posted a photo of her walking the streets of LA and the caption said, "Missing my strolls with my Love."
"Brad and Nicole were introduced through friends, and when they first started seeing each other, they told no one about it," ET's source said. "Even some of their inner circle of friends are only finding out now. Brad has been very private about dating and now more than ever he doesn't want to rock the boat with Angelina. He has been working so hard on making his co-parenting run smoothly."
Interestingly, the reference to the better half could also be about her husband, 68-year-old Roland Mary, the owner of the Berlin restaurant Borchardt. She has a 7-year-old son Emil with Mary, according to Daily Mail. Pitt is a regular at the restaurant having met Mary in 2009 while filming on location in Germany for the Quentin Tarantino movie, Inglorious Basterds.
He reportedly went back in 2019 while promoting Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and that's when he met his new lady love. Poturalski went to LA a few weeks later, and the duo spent some time together. They were also seen in November 2019 in the VIP box during the Kanye West performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
When Mail asked Mary for a comment, he didn't say anything. However, it is believed that the restauranteur and the model are in an open marriage. He is reportedly "philosophical" about his wife's "close friendship" with the Troy actor. A friend of Mary said, "Roland is a very philosophical guy. He has been married several times and has five children. He is not interested in negativity or jealousy. They are still married but you could describe their relationship as an 'open marriage.'"
Pitt has not responded to the reports. But the many witnesses of their relationship have spoken about what they saw. One eyewitness said that the couple was acting like "loved up teenagers" before they boarded their private jet.
"They were kissing and Brad was being super attentive to her," added the source. "He was in a semi public place but didn't seem to mind people seeing him. She's a real beauty and obviously a lot younger than him," they added.
The fashion model who hails from Bergkamen, Germany, and is of Polish heritage, is believed to be able to speak five languages. As a child, she wanted to be a marine biologist but was discovered at the age of 13 by a talent scout in Disneyland Paris, and her parents agreed to allow her to model.
