"You are more than we ever dreamed of," new mom Rumer Willis captioned a photo of the newborn.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, have welcomed their first grandbaby! The ex-spouses of 13 years couldn't be happier for daughter Rumer, and boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas who welcomed their first baby together, a daughter named, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, on April 18. The couple shared the exciting news of little Louetta's arrival on Instagram with the caption, "Louetta Isley Thomas Willis ✨ You are pure magic 🌱 Born at home on Tuesday, April 18th. You are more than we ever dreamed of."
Rumer's family has been excited to meet the little one since her pregnancy announcement. The House Bunny actress is part of a big, blended family that includes Bruce and mom Demi Moore along with Rumer's sisters Tallulah Willis, 29, and Scout Willis, 31, as well as Bruce and wife Emma Heming Willis' daughters Evelyn Penn, 8, and Mabel Ray, 11. Rumer hopes her child inherits some qualities from parents Bruce, 68, and Demi, 60, especially their "goofiness."
"We're a family of weirdos, and I love that so much. I really hope that that is engendered in this child," the 34-year-old new mom told PEOPLE earlier this month. "That's my favorite thing, laughing with my family." Back when the family first announced the news of Rumer's pregnancy Demi joked that she was excited to enter, "my hot kooky unhinged grandma era."
Speaking of the little one's name, Rumer admitted that she always wanted a unique name for her baby considering her name is not so common either. "I come from a family where I'm named Rumer, and my sisters are Scout and Tallulah, so I knew that I wanted something interesting, unique, and different," she said. Fortunately, her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas was on board. She did confess that before giving birth she felt like, "I have to see [the baby]. It's such a weird sensation where you're like, 'I love this kid, this little person so much, but I don't necessarily know them, so I have to see who they are and see if that fits.'"
The arrival of Rumer's baby has been a beacon of light at an otherwise dark time for the family as they're navigating patriarch Bruce Willis' frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis. The family first disclosed in March of last year that he was "stepping away" from his decades-long acting career due to health concerns. They also issued a statement after finding out that the patriarch has FTD, emphasizing that they will continue raising awareness of the condition, while also appreciating fans for their support. “Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible,” they said.
