Heming had some loving words to share for Bruce Willis in honor of their 12th wedding anniversary.
Long-term relationships are no walk in the park. They take effort, time, respect, and love to blossom over the years. It's important that each partner does their part to nurture their relationship through all its ups and downs. And for celebrities, it's probably more difficult, with the world always watching and scrutinizing every aspect of their lives. For Bruce Willis and wife Emma Heming, it's been over a decade of courtship and it looks like, despite any struggles they may have faced, they've come out on top, happier than ever. The pair tied the knot in 2009 and share two daughters Mabel Ray, 6, and Evelyn Penn, 8.
On their 12th anniversary, Heming posted a loving tribute to the 66-year-old Die Hard actor. The 42-year-old model and actress wrote, "Boy I sure do love this guy to the moon and back! Even though there’s been times I would have loved to take him to the moon, drop him off, and come back solo! That’s what 12 years of marriage looks like, right? We’ve had our fair share of floating-on-air ups and disheartening downs. But he is my person. There’s no one I would want to go through this crazy thing called marriage with than with him. He’s my family, he’s given me the family (and more) I dreamed of and I love him to my core. Happy 12th anniversary my sweet."
The post comes two days after a birthday post where she called Willis the "greatest love of my life". She added that "this guy walked into my life has turned it upside and inside out every day since—it’s exhausting. He’s the greatest man I know and I thank my lucky stars for him every single day." On their 10th anniversary, the couple renewed their vows in the presence of their daughters. “It was really for them, to be able to be flower girls, for them to be a part of something that feels kind of monumental,” Heming said about the ceremony. “Ten years felt like a big deal and something fun to celebrate.”
On how sparks flew during their first encounter, according to PEOPLE, Heming revealed, “When we first met, I was surprised at how charming and how funny he was – and extremely handsome,” shared Heming. “That was my first thought of you.” Willis added, “I was already in love with her." What's more beautiful about their relationship is that their love extends to Willis' ex-wife, actress Demi Moore too. Moore and Willis are parents to daughters Rumer, 32, Scout, 29, and Tallulah, 27. Willis joked about his big family of girls saying, “I can’t imagine having five boys,” he joked. “I can’t imagine having one boy.” He also confessed that he loved being a dad. “I think eating food and playing with my kids is my job these days. I forget that I have a job from time to time,” he said. “It’s much more fun to hang out with the kids.” Even Heming loves family life. “I just feel like there’s something about becoming a mother – you know, your maternal instincts kick in,” she said. “It’s not really just for your own kids, but for me it’s been for other kids.”
In fact, Heming and Moore's blended families often can be seen spending time together. Heming has nothing but love for Moore and it goes both ways. Moore and Willis were married for 13 years and divorced in 2000. But the two are still close and Heming respects that. In an Instagram post for International Women's Day, Moore honored Willis's wife. She wrote, "I #SeeHer as family who I am honored to call a friend. Our children are sisters and yet there is no name for what our family connection is to one another. We are mothers united, sisters bonded on this crazy adventure of life. Emma is a beautiful mother dedicated to her family, an absolutely gorgeous woman and now she can add business entrepreneur to her resume," she added.
