The 67-year-old actor's oldest daughter Rumer Willis is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.
Bruce Willis is about to be a grandparent for the first time! And so is his ex-wife Demi Moore. Their first child Rumer Willis is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.
Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia earlier this year after which his family announced that the actor was retiring from acting. The 67-year-old has been spending time with his blended family who has been a strong source of support to the actor, especially since his unexpected diagnosis.
Moore shared a sweet snap of the entire family recently captioning it, "We are FAMILY!! Getting into the holiday spirit!" The picture included Willis' five daughters Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer with ex Demi Moore and Evelyn and Mabel with wife Emma Heming Willis. Also seen is Willis holding Tallulah's dog. A source told PEOPLE that Willis is "happy" about his new role spending more time at home with loved ones. "He is happy about becoming a grandpa," the insider told the outlet. "He loves having a big family. They are all spending Christmas together. Bruce is enjoying not working and having more family time. He likes being around his girls more," added the source.
While Moore and Willis have been divorced since 2000 they remain still remain close. After the split, Willis soon realizes he did not enjoy the single life. The Die Hard star previously told W Magazine. “I spent the last 10 years single and, for the most part, unhappy. In a dark place. I never thought that being with someone else was the answer. I would say, ‘I’m alone, but I’m not lonely.’ But I was just kidding myself.” Then he met Emma Heming and everything changed. “I went from “f--- love” to “love is truly the answer... Then I started hanging around Emma, and on a day-to-day basis my life became much happier.” In 2009, Willis married Heming and has been together ever since.
Moore and Heming get along so well that Moore even attended Willis and Heming’s wedding, and was there again when they renewed their vows in 2019. Everyone in the family is super close and Bruce Willis makes sure to support both his ex-wife and his current love with a lot of maturity and integrity. A couple of years ago, while promoting her memoir, Inside Out, the Ghost actress said she cried after Willis reached out to say he was proud of her, reported TODAY. "I was getting ready to do Jimmy Fallon live the other night, and I was in the dressing room and my phone rang, and it was Bruce," Moore recalled. "I was prepared for there, maybe, to be some sensitivities, and he called and he got very emotional. He said, 'I'm so proud of you,'" she added. "I, too, then became very emotional, and I’m not a crier," she told the Present Company with Krista Smith podcast. "The purity of his love and acceptance, the space that he could hold for me, to be walking out and (to have) that encouragement, it just really meant so much, so much to me."
