As for Bruce Willis, the retired actor is spending time with family and friends and taking a break from his professional life since his diagnosis last year. According to LA Times, his declining cognitive state was reportedly a concern around sets in recent years. In 2020 Mike Burns, the director of Out of Death (one of 22 films the actor did in four years) asked the film's screenwriter in a June 2020 email "to knock down Bruce’s page count by about 5 pages. We also need to abbreviate his dialogue a bit so that there are no monologues, etc.” Later the director admitted he noticed something was wrong. “After the first day of working with Bruce, I could see it firsthand and I realized that there was a bigger issue at stake here and why I had been asked to shorten his lines,” Burns said.

A source told PEOPLE that Willis is "happy" about his new role spending more time at home with loved ones. "He is happy about becoming a grandpa," the insider told the outlet. "He loves having a big family. They are all spending Christmas together. Bruce is enjoying not working and having more family time. He likes being around his girls more," added the source.
