In an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow on The Goop Podcast, the actor and Longevity Book author admitted she’s “excited” to get older. "The whole concept of aging has just changed completely, even in the last 10 years," Diaz said. "It's totally opened up. I'm excited. I've got 50 or 60 years to go — I want to live to be 110, since I've got a young child," she added.

The actress also spoke about how her relationship with her own parents changed when she entered her 40s. "I think you have this amazing moment in your 40s where you appreciate who your parents are, and I want to have that moment with her — be there with her in her 40s,” she said.

Diaz said she wants to live a long and healthy life and hopes genetics play a part in her future, explaining her family’s “from sturdy stock.”

“My grandmother was running around in the hot San Fernando Valley sun at 72, hauling big bags of rabbit feed and chicken feed around,” she said. “I think I’ve got some of that. And as is true for most people, I think how I look and feel is some combination of what I do and what I don’t do.”

The Charlie's Angels star also opened up about being "the oldest mom in my group of girlfriends with kids. I'm lucky to be my age, lucky to have those girlfriends, lucky to have my daughter, lucky to have all the support I do raising her."

Diaz also took an 8-year break from Hollywood to focus on herself and her family. She revealed that she quit acting amid mental health struggles associated with fame and the industry. “I am absolutely a victim to all of the societal objectification and exploitations that women are subjected to. I have bought into all of them myself at certain times,” Diaz previously told RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage on the podcast Rule Breakers, according to USA Today.

She added, “Fame is very infantilizing. It’s very much about keeping somebody coddled in a state of like, we see a little child and think, ‘It’s so cute, I want it to always be cute, and if I keep it cute by always treating it cute, maybe it’ll stay cute forever.’ And that’s how people treat you.”

“The last eight years I shifted into another gear,” Diaz explained to Paltrow, saying she went from focusing on her physical health to working on “really deep, personal healing.”

She continued, “I built my life in a completely different way... the center point of it being my family: my marriage, my child, my husband. I have a great partner who is just an incredible human,” adding, “and just really lucky to have found him when I did.”
