Cameron Diaz loves family life and being a mom. The 49-year-old who was once the highest-paid actress in Hollywood took a break from her acting career to lead a quiet life on a farm. She is now returning to acting after an 8-year break. Diaz took a break at the peak of her career and decided to step into a quieter life that helped her find peace. The actress revealed, “I’m at peace. I got a peace in my soul. Because I was finally taking care of myself. I feel like my feet are on the ground. I’m lighter.” The actress decided to leave that behind for a while and focus on herself and her family. The There’s Something About Mary star is married to musician Benji Madden, and she gave birth to her first daughter, Raddix, at age 47.

In a recent interview with CBS Mornings' Dana Jacobson, Diaz shared, "When you’re doing something that you know and you’ve done well and you know how it works and it’s consumed your whole life for so long, it’s kind of a nice thing to kind of go, ‘You know what? Let me just step back for a second, take a look at what the whole picture looks like for me and what are the things that I could do better and be more engaged with that would make me feel more whole.’ And I did that," Diaz said. Fans can see Diaz return to the big screen in the Netflix film Back in Action starring alongside Jamie Foxx. As we previously reported, this is her first role in eight years, and since becoming a mom to her two-year-old.

In 2010, the actress confessed to wanting to spend time on a farm. "I've always been on the move. So what I'd love to do is spend a whole year in one place, on a farm. I'd get to raise my own crops and livestock, and for once just see how life is cultivated. It's almost like this primal thing. I really just feel as if the earth is where we all come from and we have nothing if we don't have soil, water and sun. I've read a lot about agriculture and I feel the need inside me to work with the earth in some way. I guess it would be like a painter having to paint." The actress ended up moving into a farm-style mansion in a neighborhood occupied by stars like Vin Diesel, John Mayer, and Kate Upton, reports L'Officiel Singapore. Not only did it fulfill her wish to live in a farmhouse, but she was able to enjoy solitude with just her close ones... away from the rush of Hollywood glitz and glamor. At least for a while.
