Their split comes months after Edwards gifted a diamond ring to Cher which sparked rumors about their engagement.
Cher is reportedly single again. The 76-year-old has called it quits with boyfriend Alexander "A.E" Edwards, according to E! News. A source close to the former couple claimed that the pair separated a few weeks ago and that it was an amicable split. The pop-culture legend told the outlet in March that the two were planning on working on new music together. "I'm going to England to make two albums," she said at the time. "Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I'm pretty excited about that. He's a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I'm happy about that," she said.
The Oscar winner also hinted that her then-beau's material will turn out to be sure-fire hits. "I think like any artist," she teased, "when you've got something good, you're excited." Not only did she announce that she was bringing new music into the world, the Believe singer shared she's planning to tour later this year, adding, "I'm trying to get myself in shape."

Cher has previously addressed the 41-year gap between herself and Edwards, 37, saying that the two are very compatible despite their substantial age difference. The couple first met at Paris Fashion Week and began dating in the fall of 2022. "On paper, it's kind of ridiculous," Cher said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "But in real life, we get along great. He's fabulous. And I don't give men qualities that they don't deserve." What the singer loves about Edwards is that "he's very kind, very smart, he's very talented, and he's really funny," she added. "And I think he's quite handsome."
The singer's reasoning behind dating younger men is that "older men just didn't like me all that much," Cher told host Kelly Clarkson. "Do you know what I mean? I have had a couple of boyfriends that were hovering around my age, but they just didn't like me for some reason. And maybe younger men don't care if you're funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things, and you have a strong personality. I'm not giving up my personality for anybody, okay?"
Their split comes after rumors of an engagement. Back in December, the legendary pop icon shared a photo of a sparking pear-shaped, engagement-like diamond ring on Twitter revealing that it was a gift from Edwards. Twitter was abuzz wondering if this was an engagement announcement. A few hours later she explained, "I posted this cause his nails are so cool." Speaking about their 41-year age difference, she also responded to a fan on Twitter at the time saying, “Love doesn’t know math.”
