In 2019, Marvel star Chris Hemsworth announced that he is taking time off from work to be with his family in his native Australia, which was dealing with the bushfires at the time. He planned to spend time with his wife Elsa Pataky and their kids India, 7, and five-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan, at Byron Bay, he had announced in December. And, the devoted daddy has been doing just that.

"I’m going to take some time off now – probably six to eight months – and just be at home," the Thor star revealed on Australian breakfast show Sunrise, according to Metro. The family, including brother, Liam, arrived at Byron Bay on January 9 and they have been surfing the waves, raising money for the relief and recovery from the bushfires, and having some quality family time. While he started isolating much before social isolation was made mandatory, he didn't stop promoting his new releases. His movie, Extraction, was released on Netflix to rave reviews.

The brothers, Chris and Liam, also supported the Make It Rain benefit concert in Byron Bay and donated $1million for bushfire relief, according to Metro. More recently, he spoke up against the custodial death of George Floyd on his Instagram. However, when he's not busy with helping his fellow citizens, he's with his kids.

He posted a photo on Instagram recently showing off his son, Tristan's skateboarding skills, like a proud father. "My little bloke is fearless #truelegend" he said on Instagram while sharing the photo.

He's also been photographed teaching his oldest, India Rose, how to surf. The father-daughter had a blast surfing on their matching blue surfboards, according to Daily Mail. He has reportedly been teaching his little ones how to catch the waves just like his father had taught him and his brothers.

He has also been spending more time with his brother, Liam, also an actor and recently divorced from singer Miley Cyrus. Just like when they were young boys, the brothers took advantage of the beach and spent some time surfing together during the first few months of 2020. More recently, he celebrated Mother's Day with wife Pataky and his mother, Leonie.

He also posted a funny photo from Christmas of Pataky's side of the family for making him feel "included". Pataky is a Spanish actress, whom he married in 2010. "I love Christmas it really brings people together. Thanks, Elsa Pataky and her Spanish family for truly making me feel part of the family," he said in the post on Facebook, which clearly shows him standing far off from where her family had gathered together for a group photograph.

Hemsworth, who has a home in Byron Bay, returns to their Australian abode often to get away from the pressures of being an on-screen superhero to spend time with his family. He has posted many photos of his home, where he and his children are casually spending time fishing, surfing, swimming, and more.

The father-of-three ensures that he spends ample time with family since he realizes that his children are of the age that they get sad every time he leaves for work. "I just want to be at home now with my kids. Thy are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before," he said, according to Jetss, adding, "If you went back 10 years and asked me what would be my dream scenario, this is kind of it,” he said. “I can now sit back, enjoy and appreciate it, and stop chasing."

The 36-year-old father had revealed earlier that he had become an actor because he loved film and TV, but also because he wasn't well-off financially. He wanted to help his parents pay off for their home, according to People. Now that he's successful, he wants to kick back and focus on his adorable family.
