Chris Noth, 66, rose to fame with hit shows like Law & Order, The Sex and The City (SATC), and The Good Wife. He has been busy working for most of his life and found time for expanding his family only at the age of 53. He welcomed his second child with his long-time partner, Canadian actress Tara Wilson, 38, in February 2020.

Just like his character Mr. Big on SATC broke up with Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw multiple times, he and Wilson were on/off in the beginning of their relationship. They broke up frequently and made up just as easily. Wilson told journalist Rebecca Eckler in 2008, "At the beginning, I'd say we broke up every two weeks. Then it was every two months. Then it was every six months."

Noth added, "We'd break up so often and I'd be like, 'That's it! It's over!' Then a few weeks later I'd be like, 'Why am I missing her so much? Get over it goddammit!' It got to be too much of a hassle to be apart.'" When he was asked how did he know she was the "one"? he said, "The heart wants what it wants. What’s that saying? What you resist persists?" He also added that "the things we used to fight about, like that the tone of my voice wasn’t perfect, seem stupid" now that he's become a parent.

The first time they met was straight out of a movie. They met at his bar in the early noughties and something funny happened to him then, he told News.com.au. "I fell over on my stool and I was about to get thrown out when I saw this bartender…. [laughs] Yeah, she worked there. In a way, it’s tough to have a bar, because first of all your friends want to drink there for free, and second of all it can become a habitual place to hang out — and if you like to drink, as I do, you can find yourself there an awful lot," he said.

When Wilson was asked if it was better to be with an actor or businessman, she told Eckler, "Actors can be chameleons. If you want stability, I’d say a businessman. If you want passion, then actors. But I’ve got two in one."

The couple has been married since 2012 but they welcomed their first child in 2008. When Wilson was pregnant with their first child, she was told that she would have a miscarriage as no heartbeat was detected, according to Oprah.com. The loving mom-to-be was not having any of that. "They basically said, 'You're not going to have this baby. You're going to have a miscarriage,'" Noth recalls. "She went home and talked to the baby all night long, and the next day, [there was a] heartbeat. They said, 'You're having that baby.' So he's a warrior the way I look at it."

The first-time parents named their baby boy Orion, the warrior constellation, for defying what the health professionals had found initially. His son has also been lucky for him as the first SATC movie released the same year as his birth. The movie, in which he has a huge role as Parker's love interest, went on to make $418,765,321 worldwide, according to Boxofficemojo.

Since then, he's become known for his big role in The Good Wife, where he plays an alpha-male character again. "I feel like people see me as the Governor from The Good Wife, and they want to stick me in that box … but that’s fine. I’m not actively trying to break a mould; I’m just interested in good material," said the actor to News.com.au.

At age 66, he's still working in one of the biggest shows, Doctor Who, and has welcomed his second child, Keats Noth, with Wilson earlier this year. Their second child's name is an homage to English poet John Keats. "Down from the heavens comes our second son- Keats! A thing of beauty is a joy forever," the Law & Order actor captioned the adorable image of his child, according to Daily Mail.
