Marvel actor Chris Pratt, 41, is one of those people who recently welcomed a bundle of joy into his life again. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor has an older son, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Farris, 43.
Pratt, who married Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter Katherine, 30, in 2019, welcomed a daughter with her recently. On an Instagram post, he shared the news that they are "thrilled to announce the birth" of their daughter Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, according to CNN. "We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris," said he on Instagram.
He added two Psalms to show how he feels about welcoming his daughter. "Psalm 126:3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy," wrote he, adding, "Psalm 127:3-4 - Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
His wife also posted a similar message on Instagram to announce to the world about their new baby. The beautiful family of three received heartwarming messages from their friends on their posts.
"Welcome to the world Lady Lyla!" commented Zoe Saldana on Pratt's Instagram post, as per CBS News. "May your path be blessed with grace and joy always! we are so happy for you guys! Sending you so much Love."
"We are so happy for you both!!!" Gwyneth Paltrow commented on Pratt's post. Comedian Chelsea Handler wrote, "Congratulations, babycakes! You have made your mama a grandmother! You did it!" on Katherine's Instagram post.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, who are separated since 2011, visited daughter Katherine after she welcomed baby Lyla, as per Daily Mail. Katherine's brother Patrick had been the first confirm about Lyla's birth to ET on Sunday, August 9.
"The couple is so excited for their new addition and have been showered with love from their family and friends," a source told ET. "Chris was there for the birth and the couple can’t stop taking their eyes off their daughter. Katherine and Chris are doing well and Katherine is enjoying the experience of being a first-time mother."
“Giving birth was such a special moment for Katherine. She was overcome with emotions when she first held her daughter and was so thankful to have Chris there," the source added. "Everything is new for Katherine and she’s glad Chris is there to help her through everything.”
Meanwhile, Patrick had said, "They're doing great -- just got her a little gift."
Pratt and Katherine had a bit of a whirlwind romance, having gotten engaged only a little over a year after his divorce with Farris was finalized. In August 2017, he and the Scary Movie actress separated. While they remained amicable their divorce was chalked up to "irreconcilable differences."
He also met Katherine's famous family and was welcomed to the group. "They’re such a great fit together," a source told People magazine. "It’s only been a few months but Chris and Katherine are both very serious about the relationship and their friends wouldn’t be surprised if they got engaged sooner rather than later. Katherine has spent time with Chris’ family and they all love her too. She fits in really well with them and vice versa.” In January 2019, Pratt and Katherine got engaged after dating for several months.
The couple got married on June 8, 2019, and welcomed their first child after a little more than a year. They had an intimate ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, Elle reported.
