“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,” Chris Pratt said.
Criticism and ridicule don't bother Chris Pratt. The Jurassic World actor acknowledged that he had drawn criticism for openly professing his faith many times, but shared with Page Six that it doesn't really trouble him. “I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” the 43-year-old actor revealed at a Cinema Society screening of his upcoming Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Pratt reiterated his point by using a verse from the Bible. “If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” he shared. “That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,” he added, referencing Jesus Christ.

Even if Pratt's exact relationship with God and Christianity as a whole is difficult to categorize, he believes in God. When it was claimed he belonged to Hillsong Church, which has been accused of homophobia, he came under fire. Pratt explained his position on religion and denied having any ties to the group.
While the actor is disconnected from the church, it's obvious that he believes in God and is quite active in the church. Pratt explained to Page Six how he deals with the naysayers. “Oh, just how you deal with anything,” he shared. “Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their ***!”
Chris Pratt tells @DrewBarrymoreTV he was “broken and struggling” before meeting wife Katherine Schwarzenegger:

“We met at a church. I was in the front row of church ... I was sneaking some glances and wondering, ‘Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing. Come on, I’m broken, help… pic.twitter.com/klSBvv1b1V
In fact, he first crossed paths with his longtime girlfriend and now wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, inside a church in 2018 but did not ask her out there. Schwarzenegger, 33, revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show in February, “We met each other at church. It was very sweet, but he didn’t try and pick me up in church.”
Faith is something the couple shares together and frequently references in conversations with and about each other. “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go,” Pratt wrote in 2019, announcing their engagement on Instagram. They got married that same year and later had Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 11 months, together.
With his former spouse, Anna Faris, Pratt shares Jack, who is now 10 years old. The Parks and Recreation star is presently advertising the third installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
