Hollywood icon Chuck Norris paid tribute to his beautiful wife Gena on their 24th wedding anniversary. The 82-year-old veteran actor described his wife as his best friend in a caption for a photo of his and Gena's wedding day that he posted online. "Happy anniversary to my best friend and the love of my life. I love you with all my heart," he wrote in honor of the 59-year-old and their long-lasting relationship. The actor often shares sweet tributes to his wife online on special occasions, romantic travel adventures together and more. At one such moment, he called her someone "more than my wife. She's also my best friend and business partner. We are blessed to live, love and work together." In another anniversary post, he shared, "22 years ago I became the luckiest man in the world when Gena and I got married. Happy Anniversary my beautiful wife! There are no words to describe my love and appreciation for you. Thank you for sharing your life with me. I praise God for every day we are together."

The couple enjoys being part of a big family with the Oklahoma-born star being a father to five children and a grandad to 13 grandchildren. Even their 23-year age gap didn't stop them from falling more in love with each other. However, they hit a bump in the road when Gena discovered she had a serious health scare years ago. In 2017, she claimed that she had been "to hell and back" for over five years after being injected with a medical dye during a series of MRI scans, according to CBS News. The couple filed a lawsuit against the drug companies who were responsible for Gena's reaction. They fought hard against medical device manufacturers and the chemicals used in MRI imaging scans that he alleged had poisoned his wife.

Speaking to Good Health about his wife at the time, Chuck said, "I've given up my film career to concentrate on Gena, my whole life right now is about keeping her alive. I believe this issue is so important." The couple claimed they spent around $2 million on treating her illness. According to HELLO magazine, Gena, who shares two daughters with Chuck said, "It's infuriating and heartbreaking—it's a vicious, ugly secret that has been kept hidden—something Chuck and I are determined to change."
