Sometimes, the best way to get your kids to listen to instructions is to sing it to them, even if it means that song's stuck in your head for a long time.
Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the public is being encouraged to follow the practices of social distancing and safety measures, such as hand-washing. But while adults might be alert and adapt to these practices, kids whose attention span and rule-following aren't quite as strict, are a little tougher to teach.
However, some people know just how to handle this task well and one such person is actor and former WWE star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In a recently shared video on his Instagram, that has since been removed, he shares the creative way he gets his 23-month-old daughter, Tiana, to wash her hands. In the video, also shared on Youtube, he can be seen rolling up her sleeves as he raps to her. What's more adorable is the way she looks up at him and smiles.
In the caption he wrote, “As we’re all holding down our households all over the [world] doing our best to manage this pandemic taking care of our families and teaching our babies the importance of hand washing and for how long — a fun way to teach ‘em is singing the rap portion of my song ‘You’re Welcome’ from MOANA. Benefit to this is your kids will now love washing their hands. Drawback is the song will be stuck in your head forever. You’re welcome. Stay healthy, everyone," according to Us Weekly.
The former professional wrestler parents his daughter, Tiana as well as four-year-old Jasmine with his wife, Lauren Hashian. And he wants to make sure all of them are safe as well as encourage his fans to do the same.
The 47-year-old father-of-three (first daughter with ex-wife Dany Garcia) first met his singer, songwriter, and music producer wife in 2007, while on the sets of his film, The Game Plan. At the time, he had just split amicably with Garcia, and it looks like the sparks immediately flew between the Fast and Furious actor and Hashian. In 2015, he told Esquire that the two of them had been living together for about eight to nine years. "To fall in love again? That’s a hard thing to do twice in the position I’m in. I’m one lucky son of a b---h," he said.
That same year, the two welcomed their daughter, Jasmine into their small world. Following that, in 2018, the couple had their second daughter, Tiana and finally got married in 2019. Since then, the former wrestler cannot stop gushing about his beautiful wife and daughters. “I’ve got a lot of things happening in my life, and I’ve been so lucky and fortunate to be blessed with a lot of things. The relationship part to me is my most prized thing. The people in my life. I’ve learned the power that we have to make other people happy and content in a relationship. And I have the love of my life, Lauren, who I’ve had for eight years now. I wake up every day so grateful and so thankful that I have someone like that, someone that you can walk through this world with," he said once to Entertainment Tonight.
Well, it looks like he refuses to take any of the precious people in his life for-granted and makes sure that he does the best he can to protect them. And if a hand-washing song like his is one way to do it, then maybe we should adopt it too. At least our kids will be entertained.
