"I told Dave I had lost all my feelings for him, that I had nothing left," Ann recalled.
Pastor Dave Wilson and his wife Ann have an interesting love story indeed. Their shared faith in God has helped them sustain their marital bond in unusual ways. Even though the duo knew each other since their teenage years, they had no idea that they would tie the knot in the future. According to The Epoch Times, Ann was a religious Christian girl who thought that Dave was out of her league because it didn’t seem that religion mattered to him. But later on, she learned about Dave’s serious faith in God and soon the pair started dating, and after just nine months, they tied the knot as a young couple.
However, Ann started to question her decision of getting married to Dave because he had started a new chapter of his life without dealing with his childhood trauma involving his parents who were an unhappy couple. This affected Ann and Dave’s married life severely. The couple made things work somehow and welcomed their first child in 1986, six years after their wedding.
They later had two more children but Dave was not by Ann’s side to care take of them due to his work obligations. Over time, Ann grew bitter about his absence and the couple started arguing over small issues. Dave finally realized that their marriage was going downhill when he took his wife out on a dinner date to celebrate their 10th anniversary and when he tried to kiss her in the car she pulled away. "I told Dave I had lost all my feelings for him, that I had nothing left," Ann recalled as per the outlet.
Dave was caught off guard but he suddenly felt that God was talking to him as he heard a message from above which told him, "When I'm first in your life, you will have the power to save this marriage." Dave knew he had to repent for trying to make his life perfect since he was not giving enough attention to his faith. "God, I repent. You were not the first in my life. I've messed up my life and my marriage. I'm asking you to help me be the husband I need to be, the dad I need to be, and give me the power to do that," Dave recalled.
Following her husband, Ann too seemed to have heard divine words from God. "Ann, you've been trying to find your life through Dave. You've taken your eyes off me. I am the source of life. Your husband was never made to fulfill you. He was never made to meet all of your needs. He’s not to meet all your expectations. That’s God’s job. That’s my job."
After their miraculous experience, they both knelt and prayed as they both asked for forgiveness and decided to turn their lives around. Now, the couple is going stronger than ever and they have penned down two books and have also started hosting a podcast called FamilyLife.
