The word 'cheugy' is used to describe someone who is out of date or trying too hard.
Courteney Cox's 18-year-old daughter Coco thinks her mom is "cheugy." According to the New York Times, the word can be used to describe someone who is "out of date" or "trying too hard." Pronounced chew-gee, the term is often associated with millennial women but can be applied to anyone of any gender and any age. "She calls it… what's that word? 'Cheugy.' I don't know what that means, but I'm pretty sure it means, 'Don't post that!' But she's very proud of me when I'm in a movie like Scream," the 58-year-old told Financial Times.

Cox has been sharing several entertaining videos poking fun at Internet trends with a more recent post recreating Gen-Z outfits. "Am I slaying this right?" the Friends actor joked in the Instagram clip. She admitted she doesn't take the social media app very seriously, especially when she's with her friends, and she just uses it to have fun with them. "They are everything to me. I have such supportive friends who don't mind being silly with me on Instagram," Cox shared. "Laura Dern is one of my closest pals, and if she came over right now and I said, 'Laura, will you do something stupid with me?' She would say, 'Absolutely.'"

Cox and Dern, 56, have been lifelong friends and their children also share a special relationship. Dern's two children, Ellery Harper, 21, and Jaya, 18, grew up alongside Coco, per PEOPLE. Cox shares her daughter with her ex-husband and Scream co-star David Arquette. The two split in 2012 after first tying the knot in 1999. Cox also shared an Instagram post last year celebrating her daughter's birthday. The actress posted a beach selfie of the two with the caption, "Happy 18th birthday coco! I'm so proud to be your mom. You are courageous, smart, deep, funny, unique and beautiful with the biggest heart," wrote Cox. "I can't wait to see what's next. I love you x."

Last month, Cox received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and her daughter was by her side to show her support which meant the world to the proud mom. While giving her acceptance speech on February 27, Cox shared, "I'm still in the process of working on my longest and most important projects," she began and thanked boyfriend Johnny McDaid "for teaching me to be a better person," before giving a shout-out to her daughter. "And thank you, Coco, for reminding me every day that I'm not," she laughed as Coco yelled out that she loved her. "Coco, that means that I do a bad job! You're perfect," she added. "No, seriously, Coco, it's not easy to grow up in this business. And I just want you to know you shine your own unique light and I love you so much, and I'm so proud of you. I'm proud to be your mom."
