Bartender Discreetly Hands Woman a Note to Save Her From Guy Who Was Aggressively Hitting on Her | The Guy Was Thrown Out

Max Gutierrez handed Trinity Allie a note that looked like a receipt but actually had instructions. "If this guy is bothering you, put your ponytail on your other shoulder, and I will have him removed. He's giving me the creeps," it read.

When a woman and her friend were being harassed by a creepy guy in a bar, a watchful bartender jumped in to save them. In June 2021, Trinity Allie opened up about the distressing situation she and her friend found themselves in when Max Gutierrez, St. Petersburg's drink-slinger, discreetly checked in on them with a clever move. Allie posted a picture of the Florida bartender holding out a small clipboard to her with the caption, "This man was harassing me and my friend, and the bartender passed this note to me acting like it was my receipt! Legit the type of bartender everyone needs," reported New York Post.

Praising Gutierrez for his attentiveness and quick thinking, Allie revealed how he picked up "weird vibes" from the guy who had been incessantly hitting on them. To get them out of the troubling situation, Gutierrez handed Allie a note that looked like a receipt but actually had instructions. "If this guy is bothering you, put your ponytail on your other shoulder, and I will have him removed. He's giving me the creeps," it read. Allie revealed how the barkeep ultimately kicked the guy out of the bar after giving him a much-needed reality check about his disgraceful behavior towards women.

"He ended up having to literally yell at the guy he said 'you need to get [the f**k] away from these girls who clearly are not interested' [and] the dude said 'that was a little aggressive' and he said 'well [you are] aggressively hitting on them [and] you need to leave,'" she revealed on her Twitter post. In a follow-up tweet, Allie explained that the picture of Gutierrez holding the clipboard was clicked after the creepy guy left "just to show my appreciation." In no time, the bartender from No Vacancy, St. Petersburg, gained popularity for his heroic gesture.

The bartender confirmed that Allie did make him pose for the photograph after the disrespectful man left the bar. When asked about bartenders getting training "on these types of tricks to silently communicate with patrons," Gutierrez said that it was something he picked up from "mentor bartenders."

"Eventually you become pretty good at reading people, body language, etc. This guy was giving off very weird vibes for quite a while, kept an eye on him, try to give him a chance, try to let the girls tell him no and leave it at that, but he didn't take no for an answer and kept pestering them so eventually I kind of yelled at him and made him leave lol. I honestly don't like yelling at customers or embarrassing people, but I find it's one of the best ways to handle creeps," he recalled.

"Calling them out in front of people is usually enough to get them to turn tail and walk away. I just don't need my guests feeling uncomfortable," continued Gutierrez. Fours days following Allie's post on Twitter, Gutierrez himself took to the social media platform and tweeted a "fun update" about the creepy man. "The guy I kicked out Sunday night came back to the bar JUST NOW for a beer, told him I wouldn't serve him," shared the Hawaiian shirt-wearing barkeeper.

Soon people on Twitter began revealing the different tactics that bars use to prevent women from being harassed or stalked by strangers. "A lot of bars around here have a menu in the ladies room with fake drinks to order if you need help. If your being harassed, stalked, abused, anything, you order the drink and they’ll call you a cab or the cops depending on the drink," wrote user Blake Mays. Another noted, "Most bars do this or should. Ordering an Angel Shot is code that you need help. You will be escorted to a car/taxi/uber or the person bothering you will be escorted to the exit. The more you know."
