Cynthia Nixon is wishing her "old friend" Sarah Jessica Parker on the latter's 58th birthday. In a sweet sweet birthday tribute to her Sex and the City co-star on Instagram, the 56-year-old wrote, "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other is gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That's how long, I will be your friend."

The tribute continued to wish the actress' "old friend," adding, "So glad to still be walking next to you after all this time," alongside a photo of Nixon and Parker walking side-by-side as their respective iconic Sex and the City characters, Miranda and Carrie. Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte on the show, also posted several photos of the two together on her Instagram Story for Parker's special day. "Twenty-five years! So lucky to walk through this life with you @sarahjessicaparker. Here's to another year together," 58-year-old Davis wrote over a photo of the two holding hands, according to PEOPLE.

In last year's post too, Nixon had shared a sweet snap of the pair from the show and captioned it, "Old friend, I cherish you and admire the hell out of the woman you are. I always have. And I always will. Happy, happy birthday and many more to come."

Being under the spotlight is rather hard when it comes to aging and Sarah Jessica Parker is no exception to criticism. The actress previously revealed that she and her former Sex and the City co-stars have received some negative comments over how their physical appearances have changed as they've gotten older. "There's so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man.," Parker told Vogue in 2021. "'Gray hair, gray hair, gray hair. Does she have gray hair?'" In July 2021, Parker went out with a few of her friends, and displayed her natural gray roots. She addressed the frenzy that followed, saying, "I'm sitting with Andy Cohen, and he has a full head of gray hair, and he's exquisite. Why is it OK for him? I don't know what to tell you people!"

More recently the star was spotted with her family in a rare appearance. Even though she and her husband Matthew Broderick, 61, have been together for over 25 years and frequently attend red-carpet events together, their three children are rarely present. Up until recently, when, according to PEOPLE, the entire family attended the Broadway opening night of Some Like It Hot. James, 19, and Marion and Tabitha, twins who are 13 years old, were present with their parents. The five-member family walked the red carpet for the function at the Shubert Theatre in New York City.
