"Jesus healed me," the happy father said.
DeAnna and Lee Mork have been praying for years to get blessed with another child and their prayers were finally answered when DeAnna conceived. After five years of fertility treatment and trying every means possible, DeAnna was finally expecting her second child. According to CBN, the couple was already parents to a daughter named Abby who was born in 2011. "I didn't believe it at first. It was just so out of the blue," DeAnna said.
A pregnant DeAnna went through her routine checkups and ultrasounds which showed that the baby was completely healthy and fine. The couple even discovered that their next child will be a boy. Despite all the indications that their unborn child was growing well, something kept bothering Lee. He had a feeling that something bad might happen. When DeAnna did not show any signs of labor at 40 weeks, she was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo a C-Section. "I was very worried that I was about to lose my wife," he admitted. Lee Mork prayed to God outside the operating room to save his son Jack and his wife.
To his horror, DeAnna made it through the surgery successfully but unfortunately, their son was born unresponsive and his heart wasn’t beating. The doctor did not waste time shifting the newborn to a neonatal intensive care unit of a nearby hospital and DeAnna got to touch her baby only for a while after giving birth. Lee wanted to say goodbye to his son so he cried out his name, to which, the infant miraculously responded.
"I knew he was going to be okay right there," he said, per the outlet.
The doctors told the couple to not get their hopes up because even if Jack survives, he might develop brain damage, cerebral palsy, or developmental problems. After two weeks, Jack was breathing but he was still unresponsive and he wasn’t eating. At that point, it was a test of faith for Lee Mork. They spent Thanksgiving at the hospital but hoped to bring Jack home by Christmas.
Finally, on Christmas Eve, little Jack made it home and his parents were overwhelmed to share the experience on their Facebook page. "We got our Christmas miracle!!!! God is so good!!! Thank you so much to everyone who has joined us in praying that Jack would be home before Christmas," the post read on DeAnna’s page. Jack’s neurologist shared that the infant was making great progress in terms of health for his age and the doctors were stunned to see Jack hitting all the developmental milestones.
"Jesus healed me!" Jack said, being aware of his miracle story. The boy who was dead for 23 minutes is now growing happily and maintaining great health. DeAnna gives all the credit to God, whose blessings brought her son back to life.
