"I want my kids, if and when they exist…I would love them to be around film sets," Radcliffe said earlier.
Daniel Radcliffe has discovered a new type of magic: fatherhood. The Harry Potter actor, 33, and his girlfriend Erin Darke, 38, have welcomed their first child together, according to a spokesperson for the actor. At this moment, no other information on the couple's newest addition to their family is known. The two stars were photographed walking in New York City while Radcliffe pushed a pram, according to media reports, per PEOPLE.
The two performers discussed gaining popularity at a young age in an October interview with Evan Rachel Wood for Newsweek about their film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, with the Harry Potter star claiming film sets "can be wonderful" environments for kids. "I want my kids, if and when they exist…I would love them to be around film sets," Radcliffe told Newsweek. "A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like 'God, you know, I'd love to be in the art department. I'd love to be something in the crew.' Some part of this, but not from that."
"I think if you can get a situation where you're on film sets without necessarily [thinking] 'oh, this is gonna be a big deal in your life,' that's great," he explained. "Film sets are wonderful places. I think a lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids. But it's really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs."

When discussing the way he was feeling with PEOPLE in March 2022, Radcliffe praised Darke and his relationship, sharing that he was in a wonderful spot in his personal life. "I've got a really nice life. I've been with my girlfriend for a decade pretty much. We're really happy," he said.
We definitely like [working together], but it's not something we want to do all the time," he added. "We obviously met on film and so getting to do stuff on Miracle Workers with her last year was incredibly special and felt lovely. Hopefully, we'll get to do more in the future, but we also both write, so maybe we'd write something together at some point, and that would be cool,” he said,
Radcliffe said that the tale of how the two met on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2012 would make for a "hell of a story to tell our kids one day." He shared, "Because of what our characters do with each other." Radcliffe continued, referencing their love scene, "Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."
