“I’ve got a really nice life. I’ve been with my girlfriend for a decade pretty much. We’re really happy.”
Daniel Radcliffe will soon become a father! Erin Darke, Radcliffe's longtime partner, is expecting a baby as the two are going to have their first child together. The information was verified by TODAY through a representative for the Harry Potter actor. Radcliffe and Darke, who have been together for about a decade now, met on the scene of the 2013 film Kill Your Darlings.
The 33-year-old actor talked about first meeting Darke on the movie set during their shared moments during a retrospective of his career with PEOPLE TV in April 2019. “It’ll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other,” he explained, laughing. “That’s how we met. That was the beginning of our beautiful relationship,” the actor gushed.
Despite spending a lot of time on set as a kid and an adolescent, Radcliffe claimed that he didn't feel like he “grew up” there and got to experience his “private moments” of growth away from the cameras. He lists his first encounter with Darke, whom he refers to as the “love of my life,” as one of the exceptions. “Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting,” Radcliffe added.
Radcliffe has talked about their relationship over the years, despite the fact that their relationship is primarily private. He described Darke as his “best friend” in an interview with Us Weekly at the beginning of their relationship, telling the publication that “I think that’s the kind of relationship I always aspire to have with someone I’m in a relationship with.”
Radcliffe opened up to PEOPLE about his long-term romance with Darke before their 10-year anniversary, telling the publication, “I’ve got a really nice life. I’ve been with my girlfriend for a decade pretty much. We’re really happy. We definitely like [working together], but it's not something we want to do all the time," he said. "We obviously met on film and so getting to do stuff on Miracle Workers with her last year was incredibly special and felt lovely. Hopefully, we'll get to do more in the future, but we also both write, so maybe we'd write something together at some point, and that would be cool.”

“I think this film might be one of her favorites that I've ever done because she is a gigantic Sandra Bullock fan,” he said, referring to The Lost City. “When I told her a script's come in before I'd read it, and I was like, 'Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock [are in it],' she was like, 'You have to do this!' I mean, there was no debate about it. I also wanted to.”
