The teen has now reportedly moved in with her dad, Charlie Sheen, and the two are having a good time.
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's 17-year-old daughter Sami Sheen recently went viral after creating a now-private TikTok video, where she reportedly wrote that just one year ago she was "trapped in an abusive household [and] hated myself," claiming that she "would go days without eating or sleeping, insanely depressed, hated school, etc…."
According to Page Six, she then shared that she "finally moved out of the hell house, had a spiritual awakening, own 2 cats, happy single, full of self-love, and dropped out of high school :)"
Though the post has been made private, people seem to think she was talking about the time she was living with her mom Denise Richards, per PEOPLE.
While the allegations of abuse against Richards are a bit dire, a source close to the Drop Dead Gorgeous said that Sami is simply rebelling against her mother's rules. "Denise set normal rules that any parent would be setting," the source explained. "She’s a mom and a parent and there are rules. She didn’t want to follow the rules."
Apparently, Sheen was not a big fan of giving his daughter a set of rules to follow. "Charlie didn't support implementing Denise's rules. He has a different way of parenting and Sami decided to live with her dad," adds the source.
According to US Weekly, Richards often spoke about her relationship with her kids during seasons 9 and 10 of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. “I’m struggling with parenting right now with my teenagers. Sami, I think sometimes she does things hoping to get a reaction out of me. It’s not easy,” Richards said on a May 2020 episode.
Even Charlie's statement about the issue was pretty laid-back. "Sam’s amazing," Charlie said through a statement released by his rep, Jeff Ballard. "I love her and all my children unconditionally. We’re having a ball. GED here we come!"
Richards, 50, and Sheen, 56, first met on the sets of the movie Good Advice in 2000, but they only started a romance when the actress guest-starred on Charlie's former sitcom Spin City in 2001. They married in June 2002, and share two daughters, Sami and Lola, 16.
But by March 2005, it was over, after Denise filed for divorce when Sheen was in the midst of a drug and alcohol relapse. Following her split from Sheen, Richards adopted her daughter Eloise, 10.
