According to the US Weekly, Marek was nervous before the proposal, hoping everything goes as planned. He said, "The last three years with Amy have been wonderful and I see a future with Amy but as far as how the actual proposal will go...I still don’t have it quite figured out—exactly what I’m gonna say and how I’m gonna do it and how it's all gonna play out." He added, "The ring is stashed in the car, it’s in the console!”

Despite his nervousness, the proposal went smoothly. Speaking about the surprise that got her emotional, Roloff said, “I was not expecting this one iota.” She added, “I thought for sure, ‘No, this is too obvious. He’s not going to do it on this third-year anniversary. We’ll still have a great time. It’ll all be nice and we’re going to look forward to continuing on and everything and maybe he’ll surprise me, like everyone else, during the holidays or something, I don’t know.’ I was totally blown away. … It was a huge surprise."

In an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life, she revealed that Marek had asked her dad months before the proposal and that this gesture means a lot to her. “It meant a lot to me to know that he did that, and I was very glad that we got engaged before my mom passed away so that she felt great that her daughter is going be okay,” Roloff said.

Given how caring her fiancee is, she will indeed be more than okay! How much Marek loves Roloff is palpable through the effort and thought he puts into everything. To propose to the matriarch, he chose a gorgeous heartshaped engagement ring. Revealing the reason behind this, he said, “I wanted it to be unique, and I wanted her also to know that I was putting a lot of thought into it,” Marek said. “She just really has a fascination for heart-shaped rocks. Whenever we’re outside especially near water, she’s always looking at the beach or near the river for heart-shaped rocks. Knowing that I just thought that she would appreciate it more and turns out she did.”

How sweet! Now, doesn't he sound like a keeper? The mom-of-three added, “This is a rock I don’t have to look for anymore!”

Even though they’re engaged, they have decided not to move in together just yet. Marek explained that they are doing this to figure out what works best for them. “We’re kind of easing into it. I haven’t moved in yet with Amy," he said. "I still have my house, she has hers, but we’re spending a lot of time together and getting adjusted to compromising on things and learning how to live together and learning each other’s quirks and habits,” he explained. “I’m glad that we have time to do this without a lot of pressure. We’re not forced into a situation where it’s a drastic change for both of us. It’s been an easy flow and easy transition.”

The episodes to be aired will show how Roloff's family reacted to the news of her engagement. “That was kind of on my mind. I don’t want to give too much detail on that, but I was excited to be engaged,” she continued. “But even adult children go through their own thing when their parents get divorced and then find new relationships. I try to take that to heart, but you will see a moment where maybe I didn’t think about it too much. Zachary was a little surprised.”

She added, “I would like to share that experience with [Chris].”
