Dick Van Dyke and his wife Arlene Silver were recently spotted shopping in a golf cart in Malibu. The 96-year-old actor was dressed in a dark pair of pants, a light blue sweater, and black slippers. His wife, 51, was seen operating the vehicle while donning a fashionable pair of sunglasses. Dyke, who otherwise appeared in high spirits, appeared to have some sort of eye infection because his left eye seemed a bit red and swollen, according to BACKGRID.

Silver and Dyke have had a glorious marriage. When the comedian was 86 and Silver was 40, the couple exchanged vows. Before this, he was married to Margie Willett, with whom he had had a 36-year-old marriage and four kids, Carrie, Christian, Stacy, and Barry. He was then in a relationship with actress Michelle Triola for over 30 years before she passed away in 2009.

Van Dyke appeared in a Valentine's Day music video earlier this year, which was directed by his wife. In the music video, which featured the band The Vantastix, the actor was being his silly self. The music video was set to Doris Day's 1950s popular song, Everybody Loves A Lover. Van Dyke joined Silver in singing Day's portion while he added a few of his own dance moves. He was seen in the video winking at the camera and fiddling with naked sculptures on the set. With a kiss and a snuggle on a loveseat, Silver and Van Dyke close the video.

Van Dyke exercises regularly and frequently uploads videos of himself exercising to Instagram. Despite being 96 years old, the actor is in great shape and eager to turn 100. He said, "I'm looking forward to 100." He argues that maintaining activity is crucial. The most important thing is to keep going, Van Dyke said to NPR. “Keep moving is the main thing,” Van Dyke said. “I think I reiterate three or four times in the book, ‘Do not start going down the stairs sideways.’ It feels good on your knees but it throws the hips out and the back starts to go out, the next thing you know, you’ve fallen down and broken your hip. So even if it hurts a little, go down the stairs front-ways.”

He added that it's his nature to be optimistic. “I’m one of those people who gets up on the right side of the bed in the morning. I get up and have a cup of coffee and go to the gym because I talk myself out of it because I will as anybody will.”
