The expectant grandma said, "I am beyond blessed with this beautiful gift. It’s amazing. As a mother I am full."
Lindsay Lohan and Bader Shammas are going to be parents, and to-be grandma Dina Lohan can't stop smiling. Lindsay announced her pregnancy on Instagram on March 14. "We are blessed and excited!" Lohan, 36, captioned the post (along with baby and milk bottle emojis) and included a picture of a onesie with the words "coming soon..." written on it.
A few hours later her mother Dina Lohan reposted the picture on Instagram, writing that she was "filled with joy and happiness." In an interview later with 1010 WINS, the expectant grandmama said, "I am beyond blessed with this beautiful gift. It’s amazing. As a mother I am full. I am so happy. I can't stop smiling."
Dina is relishing the opportunity, as she is already a grandma to Isabelle, the daughter of her son Michael Jr. "As a grandmother, you get to teach them kindness and sharing and the beautiful things that make life up," she said. The excited grandparent further added, "It’s such a gift from God. I am so grateful and humbled. She’s going to be an amazing mom. She’s so maternal. She was my oldest so she was so helpful (with her siblings Michael Jr., Aliana, and Dakota). And Isabelle just adores her."
Michael Lohan, Lindsay's father, added that he "couldn't be happier" in agreement with his ex-wife. "Lindsay is just very maternal," Michael, who lives in Houston, added. "I see the way she is, not just the way she is with my kids, but with her siblings when she was younger. And even with other children, she has very maternal instincts."
He added, "Even now, she's always telling her brothers and sisters what to do. She's the glue that bonds." Lohan, who already cherishes his role as a grandparent, shared that he feels much more active. "Again, how about that? It makes me feel older or younger. One or the other. You are a lot more active and busier. Trying to do the things that a grandfather does, but you realize your kids are having kids. I just have Ali and Cody and then I'm done," he said, laughing.
He concluded, sharing, "I think Lindsay and Bader will make amazing parents," he said.
With the kind of calm person Lohan's husband is, that might turn out to be true. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Lohan shared, "I have an amazing husband, who’s a very calm person. Just the best. And my family. And I feel like I have a small group of good friends who are just really good people. That’s the only support that I really need, friends, family, and loved ones."
