Her boyfriend of five years, Matty Smith, claimed that "she punched him on both sides of his face and bit his upper back, leaving a mark with swelling and bruising."
Duane "Dog" Chapman's stepdaughter, Cecily Barmore Chapman, 28, was arrested in Hawaii, on July 31, 2021. According to Fox News, the arrest was made with regard to domestic violence. On the evening she was arrested, Honolulu police got a call from her boyfriend of five years, Matty Smith, claiming that Barmore had allegedly become abusive. He added that they had both been drinking before the altercation, per TMZ.
Chapman's boyfriend claimed that "she punched him on both sides of his face and bit his upper back, leaving a mark with swelling and bruising," per the outlet. Smith then revealed that this is not the first time such an issue has cropped up between the two of them.
Barmore was placed under arrest for "misdemeanor abuse of a household member" and even though EMS was dispatched, Smith didn't go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney's Office stated that they won't file charges, but they have two years to do so following the incident if they find new evidence to change their current stance.
When approached, Barmore admitted that there was an incident, and she spoke of an "altercation where a man struck me and said vile things about the memory of my dead mother."
"I used proportional response, disabled the aggressor, and stood up for the memory of my mom. She would have handled it quite the same way, I can assure you," she alleged. "If you put your hands on Cecily Chapman you will get your ass kicked."
The news of Barmore's alleged abuse comes right after Dog Chapman was accused of not inviting Barmore—who is Beth's daughter with her first husband Keith Barmore—and daughter Bonnie, 22, to his wedding to fiancée Francie Frane on September 2, 2021.
In an open letter, Bonnie accused her dad of racism and homophobia. She also wrote that he had cheated on Beth Chapman multiple times before she died of cancer in 2019.
"I had forgiven my father after my mother’s death for countless actions that I shouldn’t have. He would cheat on my mom all the time, and I hated him every time he did it, but I forgave him for that because I wanted a relationship with my dad. I thought I had only one parent left. I was left with the racist and homophobic parent," she wrote.

Meanwhile, Bonnie's half-sister Lyssa Chapman spoke out in support of her father, defending him and his actions. "My sister(s) are putting out lies about our father," Lyssa wrote. "Do not listen! For the record, Bonnie and Cecily are loved by our family and we are heartbroken that bad people are using them to get revenge on Dad. Dad is not a racist and not homophobic. He loves all people."
