US President Donald Trump's eldest child, Donald Trump Jr., has tested positive for coronavirus weeks after his father recovered from it. Trump Jr. is now isolating even though he is asymptomatic, as per CNN.

"Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result," a personal spokesman said. "He's been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines."

In a video posted to Instagram on November 20, Trump Jr. announced that he tested positive and was "totally asymptomatic." He added that "out of an abundance of precaution, I'll quarantine. I'll follow the regular protocols. You know, take it seriously." "No reason to do anything otherwise, but again totally asymptomatic, which is what's weird about it," he said.

Trump Jr. took the test before embarking on a planned trip with his son. He also said that he would "maybe get another couple tests" so he could spend time with his family during the holidays. The President also said that his son was "doing very well."

The 42-year-old son of the president is another high-level person associated with the president who has tested positive. Rudy Giuliani’s son Andrew Giuliani, who is a White House aide, also announced on November 20 that he tested positive, according to Bloomberg. An aide to Vice President Mike Pence, Hannah MacInnis, tested positive earlier in November. While Pence has not tested positive, many of his aides, including his communications director and his chief of staff, have.

People close to Trump Jr. like his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, also tested positive over the summer when the couple was campaigning for his father around the country.

The 42-year-old was one of the roughly 250 guests who attended the White House's indoor election night party. Most of the attendees didn't wear face masks. Another super-spreader event caused by the White House took place in late September when several guests mingled during the nomination ceremony of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Several guests had tested positive back then as well.

Trump and his eldest son have shared misinformation videos previously that said that people didn't need to wear masks if they took a combination of hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and the antibiotic Zithromax, according to Vox.

They had shared videos by Houston doctor Stella Immanuel, who had made the claim. As a result, Trump Jr.'s Twitter account had been suspended for 12 hours. He also told Fox News in September that the number of deaths from Covid-19 is "almost nothing." Back then, more than 228,000 Americans had succumbed to the virus, reported CNN.
