He is a proud father to his daughters and loves being there for them in every way.
Probably the only good thing to come out of the pandemic is that some parents got to spend quality time with their children, something that wouldn't have been possible with their otherwise busy schedule. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson felt grateful, too, to spend more time with the his family and expressed appreciate for his "blessed" life, reports PEOPLE. However, it was hard for him to adjust to a routine where he didn't have to get out and go work.
"It was a shakeup for us," the actor admits. "I did this weird thing every day where I still got up and got dressed like I was getting ready to go someplace. I mean, shoes and all. That helped me psychologically."
The pandemic helped Johnson realize the importance of being attentive in a relationship. "On a relationship and marriage standpoint, you realize you have to really be attentive to your reactions and responses because your patience capacity starts to compress." As always, he uses such experiences to learn and become a better man.
But the 49-year-old has no complaints about spending time at home because his daughters Jasmine and Tia "are tornadoes and very passionate about how they feel," the actor says, laughing. The actor is father to Tia, 3, and Jasmine, 5, with his wife, singer/songwriter Lauren Hashian, 36. He also has a daughter Simone, 19, with ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia, 52.
"Lauren and I like raising them in an environment and a culture where there are no limits to life. You can do anything you want, and you can achieve anything you want. However, I need you to be flexible with how we get there."
The former WWE champion also shared a video on his Instagram handle, where he reiterates that there is nothing like a relationship between a father and daughter. The video also includes a montage of heartwarming moments the actor has shared with his daughters over the years. In the video, the actor and businessman says the most important thing he has learned about raising daughters is to just be there for them.
The actor emphasized the importance of listening and having an expanded capacity to be tender and gentle. This helped him solve his daughters' issues with them, rather than solving the problem for them. The video also included pictures of him with Simone.
The caption for the video was also heartwarming, as it read: "Every man wants a son, but every man NEEDS a daughter. Thank God for that quote ☝🏾 because I have a house of ALL GIRLS and FULL of ESTROGEN." The actor has also insisted he will never take his own blessings for granted. "The most important things are right in front of me," Johnson adds. "I am in constant thank-you mode."
