The couple, who have two kids together and have been dating since 2007, were dressed in white head to toe for the beautiful wedding that was kept a secret from the press.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is celebrating for two things these days: the success of his latest film and his wedding to Lauren Hashian, the mother of his two kids and longtime partner. They tied the knot officially on August 18 and the couple looked lovely in all white. They shared only two photos on social media and said, "We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed)."
In a committed relationship since 2007, the couple laid to rest the questions about their pending wedding that they have been facing for years. In July 2018 Johnson told Entertainment Tonight that he was not going to be hasty about getting married. "I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, 'Oh, did you get married?'" he said. "I'm like, 'No. Easy. Don't rush big daddy.'" However, their commitment was no less than a marriage.
Dwayne, 47, and Lauren, 34, are the proud parents of two daughters, Jasmine, 3, and Tiana, 1. He also has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone, with ex-wife and manager, Dany Garcia. He met Lauren on the set of the film The Game Plan while he was still married but he and Dany amicably split soon and he started dating Lauren. His relationship with Lauren has been enduring and committed.
For him, the relationship is still solid thanks to humor. "First of all, she teases me about everything. Everything,” he told People in 2016. “Nothing is off-limits in our house. And it’s the beauty of it. And I tease her with everything.”
The couple is absolutely adorable and never stop showering each other in compliments. In 2016, when he was voted the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People, he said that she already thinks that of him. "The good thing is she already thinks I’m the Sexiest Man Alive,” he said. He also said that she would "yell loudly, she’s going to scream", which shows that he knows his partner well.
He is one of the most famous men in the world and yet there is so little known about his wife. The singer, songwriter, and producer and the megastar wanted to get married last year but they had another baby, which delayed the wedding.
“And Mama don’t wanna take wedding pictures with a big belly—Mama wanna look good," he told Rolling Stone magazine. They weren't trying to have a baby then but "were talking about it." “And then all of a sudden I get a text from her with a [picture of a] pregnancy test.” He joked, “All I did was look at her.” And Lauren added to it saying, “He just gave me the eyebrow. Pew. Here’s a baby.”
He's already a dedicated father and cherishes each moment with his youngest ones. "Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe... Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I'd have a good shot at being a great father," he had said in an Instagram post when his second child was born.
He also gave a shout out to all mothers for the incredible miracle they perform during childbirth. "I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible...but as men, it's a miracle we should witness because it'll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman."
Their family was complete but the wedding just binds them together in love, trust, and commitment even further. They have been soulmates and partners for more than a decade but the latest step just bookends their relationship beautifully.
