According to PEOPLE, the photo in question is from the Sussexes' wedding ceremony. Photographer Alexi Lubomirski captured the picture at Windsor Castle after Harry and Meghan's wedding ceremony at St. George's Chapel on May 19, 2018. It depicts the couple encircled by family members and bridal party members, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.  Along with the now King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate, there are also members of Harry and Meghan's bridal party, Kate and William's kids, and Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, in the picture.

Though it should not come as surprise to see Harry and Meghan's picture in Buckingham Palace, there has been an incident in the past where Prince Harry and Meghan were alienated. Some major drama unfolded in 2019 because fans had spotted how the Sussexes weren't included in the photos surrounding the Queen during her Christmas Speech. Biographer Tom Bower said in his book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors' that Harry did notice their picture missing and felt like "the Windsors were airbrushing the Sussexes from history.”

No one can say if including Harry and Meghan's pictures in the meeting room now was intentionally done to avoid repeating history. During Queen Elizabeth's funeral, Charles made sure to mention the Sussexes. "With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the center ground, where vital help can be given," Charles said, going on to add, "I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan, as they continue to build their lives overseas."

Harry and Meghan shifted to California to start their new lives two years after their royal wedding in May 2018. Though they have stepped down from royal duties, they might return to England for King Charles' coronation ceremony scheduled in May 2023.
