Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson are not just a gorgeous mother-daughter duo; they also share a close bond. The two are fierce, vivacious, and strong women in their own right.

When Hawn was on her way to the hospital to give birth to her daughter way back in 1979, she knew her daughter's name had to be changed. Why? "She kicked me so hard in my vagina that I changed her name right on the spot because she was tough," the actress, 77, told PEOPLE in 2020. "I had named her Rebecca and on the 405 [freeway] I went, 'This is a Kate.'"

The Oscar winner and her daughter have been each other's rocks through the years. On her 77th birthday in November, Hudson paid tribute to her mom, sharing sweet snaps of the two. Some of them included a selfie on an airplane and Hawn spending time with her grandchildren. "So lucky I get to celebrate my beautiful mother every day BUT TODAY Nov 21 was the day she was born!" she captioned the series of photos in honor of her mother's birthday. "I wonder if God knew what had been concocted in the stars to create this beaming light? I have a feeling it was by no accident that she shares this otherworldly lust for life and joyous spirit," Hudson's caption continued. "Be not fooled, my mother has depths that reach far beyond a tip-toed dance through life."

Hudson has looked to her mother for inspiration for navigating her own blended family. Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell have four children: Boston Russell, whom Kurt welcomed with ex-wife Season Hubley; Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson from Hawn's previous relationship with Bill Hudson; and Wyatt Russell, the couple's youngest child together, per PEOPLE.

As for Kate Hudson, she shares daughter Rani Rose, 4, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa. Her oldest is son Ryder, 18, who she shares with her ex-husband Chris Robinson. She also has another son Bingham "Bing," 11, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy. "It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside, I feel like we're killing it," she told the Sunday Times about co-parenting her three children with three fathers in 2022. "The unit that I've created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it's ours."

Speaking of her oldest, she said Ryder is "very happy" in college and she and Robinson "just need to check in once in a while." As for Bellamy, the actress said he is "so wonderful" and she "couldn't have asked for a better co-parent." "For me it's like, you loved this person. That doesn't just go away, but you can re-establish a different kind of love. You can have an amazing time with an ex-partner because you're really only focused on the love of your child," she shared. Of FUjikawa, Hudson thinks he is "such a wonderful dad and stepdad." Hudson and Fujikawa got engaged in 2021 and "couldn't be more in love."
