Two months after going missing, an elderly couple from Nebraska has been discovered dead, authorities disclosed. Robert (Bob) Proctor, 89, and Loveda Proctor, 92, married for 70 years, had been missing since the middle of January, NBC affiliate KSNB-TV reported.

The family had been searching for the couple for 2 months, with granddaughter Laci Fleming posting about the couple on Facebook constantly. "We really don't know ... what location they could possibly be in," granddaughter Laci Fleming told CBS station KMTV when they were searching. The couple was last seen leaving a Grand Island Hospital on January 11, KETV reported.

Tragically, the two were found dead inside a vehicle that was "stuck on a minimum maintenance road" in Buffalo County on, March 12, according to a statement from the sheriff's office and Aurora Police Department (APD). Around 3:15 p.m. local time, a resident saw the car north of 100th and Keystone Road and reported the encounter to authorities, per PEOPLE.

The couple's son, Victor Proctor, claimed that his parents were discovered about 60 miles from their house. Bob and Loveda's daughter-in-law Tammy Proctor previously revealed that she and Victor became suspicious when they attempted to bring food to their residence. "When Victor took the food over there to them, they weren't there and it was dark," Tammy explained earlier this month.

Victor, who spoke to KMTV, shared that Bob and Loveda had been married for nearly 70 wonderful years. The couple was loved by their family, which included a total of eight grandkids and numerous great-grandchildren. "They've always been great at keeping our family always together," Victor said.

Victor revealed in January that Bob was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the Navy. He also suffered from dementia, and his wife Loveda took care of him. "We just need to get to the end, find my mom and dad, and bring them back home safely," he shared at that time.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) and APD both state that an inquiry is still being conducted into the deaths of Bob and Loveda. According to the joint statement on Saturday, authorities do not believe that there was foul play involved and examinations have been requested.

Bob and Loveda were last seen exiting a hospital in Grand Island on January 11. The couple was identified in video security footage from January 12 that showed them at the Pump & Pantry on Highway 6 in Hastings. A month later, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) verified that the couple had been seen in the footage. It is the couple's last video that has been located.
