When a young life is lost, it hurts not just the people who know them but also the people who get to know about them through different sources. The sympathy we feel for them is not because they lost their lives early, it's because they lost out on the future which was ahead of them. That is what a young mum missed out on as well.

Tributes flooded in for a 21-year-old mum who was described as a "beautiful, kind and gentle" after she died in a horror car crash while she was enjoying a day with her boyfriend. The tragic accident took place in Brighouse, Calderdale, West Yorkshire on Saturday. She was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend Sam Sheard's car when they crashed into a Mercedes coming from the opposite direction, reported The Daily Mail.

Sophie left her daughter in the hands of her mother while she went out to spend some personal time with her boyfriend. She had no clue that it would be the last time she would touch her baby and hold her in her hands.

Both Sophie and Sam spent some leisure time at the golf course and later decided to go for a quick and short meal at McDonald's after 2 pm. Sam had been driving a Vauxhall Corsa while Sophie sat on the passenger side. Just minutes later the tragedy took place, reported The Sun.

According to the cops, the couple was traveling away from Brighouse when they crashed into the Mercedes C180 which was going towards the town. Even though the paramedics tried to revive her, Sophie passed away at the scene.

All my life I have lived for my children. My heart is now broken. I will love you forever and promise from the bottom of my heart I will make you proud and make sure Emilia has the best upbringing."

The police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with regards to the car collision which happened at around 2.22 pm on August 22 at the A643 Highmoor Lane in Brighouse.

"This has clearly been a very serious incident in which a young woman has lost her life and we are conducting a full investigation into what took place," said Det Sgt Alison Webb, of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, and added, "We are appealing for witnesses and I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or either the Mercedes or Corsa just prior the incident taking place."

"We would also ask anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision or the vehicles driving just prior to the crash to contact us."
