A grieving Utah mother found out she was pregnant just hours after tragically losing her husband to a freak truck accident. The "devastating accident" happened when "a truck that was parked next to the house rolled backwards towards the yard," according to Sara Munoz, the woman's sister who has started a GoFundMe to support the grieving family.

At the time of the accident, Jonathan Rodriguez, 23, was fixing the backyard along with his family and throwing boulders into a truck parked on a slope the police revealed, per New York Post. That's when Jonathan, his mother Sonia, and his wife Daisy tried to stop the truck but they were all crushed by it. While Jonathan lost his life at the scene, his mom suffered "extensive injuries" and currently undergoing surgeries. His wife Daisy, 23, developed "complications" after losing her husband and she had to be rushed to the emergency room where "she was told she is currently pregnant."

The grieving sister-in-law said that Jonathan had a whole life of aspirations and goals ahead of him. “He worked hard to provide his family the beautiful life they had. His life was drastically cut short leaving behind his wife and his kids,” Munoz wrote in the fundraiser. In a separate Facebook post, Munoz writes, honoring her late brother-in-law, “Jonathan was one of my favorite people in the world. He loved my sister tremendously. They were each other's high school sweethearts. Together they raised two young boys who loved their father. He was their role model and best friend. Jonathan loved his family and always put them first before anything else.”

Jonathan's brother-in-law Stewart Barcenas said, “He was the light, and he was the fun.”

In an update, Munoz stated that the mother Sonia is able to be responsive and is very calm and hopeful. "All the doctors and nurses say she is so strong for being so responsive and able to communicate her needs," she updated. In another update, she added, "My aunt is so strong, and it brings me to tears to know how she can be the one telling us to be strong even though she knows about her son, my cousin Jonathan." According to the fundraiser, Sonia tells everyone that they "can cry and mourn when she has recovered. My aunt has been asking for time to be by herself and process the news of her son."
