The beaming wife also stated that "he's the same guy today" as he was growing up in a little town in Oklahoma, per Variety. While congratulating Shelton on having his name etched on the historic walkway, Stefani stressed how "genuine" he is. “There is no one more authentic than this guy. He has just always been a star,” she added.
Stefani is proud of Shelton, 46, for refusing to let Hollywood change him. When Shelton approached the stage to deliver his own address, he thanked everyone for their kind remarks and specifically mentioned his wife. "I kind of stopped checking things off my list of great accomplishments in my life when I married Gwen and so this is just the icing on the cake," he said. "But I love you so much and that's the greatest thing that's happened along this journey."

The country singer revealed that his family flew in from Oklahoma for the momentous occasion and that he was talking with his mother this morning about what he wanted to say during his address. "She goes, 'You know, I wish Richie could've been here to see this and everything that you've done,'" he recalled.
Richie, Shelton's younger brother, died in a traffic accident in 1990 when he was only 24 years old. Shelton was 14 years old at the time. The singer agreed with his mother and ended his address by adding, "I dedicate my star on this Walk of Fame to my brother Richie."
